into the Korcari Wilds

Aedan and his party venture through the Korcari Wilds in search of darkspawn blood and the treaties

Chapter 26 by ARavingLooony ARavingLooony

"I assume none of you has ever seen a darkspawn then?" Alistair asked as the group of darkspawn genlocks and hurlock's lay dead at the feet of the blonde Warden and three recruits.

Aedan chuckled "I was a noble, remember. The only place I had ever gone to outside of my family's castle was Denerim. I'm not exactly used to having to fight these kind's of things" he motioned to the dead darkspawn with his sword which Daveth and Ser Jory were working on filling the vial's given to them with the varying dead darkspawn's blood which Aedan had done after the foul creatures fell.

"When I fought my first one it was...horrible" Alistair recalled "I had never thought to face something as monstrous in all my life"

"You don't say" Daveth said sarcastically as he finished pouring the blood into his vial and tightly put the wooden stopper in the top of the vial.

Alistair gritted his teeth "as I recall, Mr Cocky, you and Ser Jory were the only ones unnerved by the sight of them"

"They're ugly and their armour isn't exactly top tier" Aedan said to the scoundrel and knight who seemed to be unnerved by the place ever since they stepped into the vast jungle "they have crappy armour and weapon's, so come on you two, they're not that hard to kill"

"Unless they're swarming all around you" Alistair added "trust me"

"They're still....abominations" Ser Jory declared as he kicked one of the dead darkspawn in the face.

"That they are" Aedan agreed.

"And they want to kill everyone; including the lovely ladies. I'd be a poor example of a man if I let them do so" Daveth smirked.

"I'm sure all those imaginary lover's of yours are real thankful, Daveth" Aedan snorted. "I assume you know the way, Alistair?" Aedan asked the young Warden "the last thing I want is to get lost and meet my death in this place.

"It should be just up there" Alistair pointed to an old and crumbling ruin which had moss and roots covering at least 3/4 of the stonework. Duncan was right in that it definitely looked like it hadn't been maintained properly in year's.

Sure enough after nearing the tower there was a chest just outside and after Aedan opened it much to his annoyance there was nothing inside "and of coarse the treaties are not there" the youngest Cousland said, annoyed.

"Are you sure? let me loo.." Alistair said as he too looked into the chest was completely empty. "where could they have gone?"

"My my, what have we here?" a sultry voice called out from the ruined tower's direction to which Aedan, Alistair, Daveth and Ser Jory turned and faced the newcomer. And to say that Aedan was shocked to see the woman who exited the tower. A young woman, likely only a few year's younger than he himself wearing a single arm covered with cloth and a feather covered pauldron with the other arm bare and scantily clad robe's that revealed a significant amount of cleavage. She wasn't as busty as Aedan imagined Wynne was but the mysterious woman certainly had a nice medium sized pair of tit's. And most importantly the staff on her back confirmed her as one of the mages not in the Cicle of Magi. An apostate.

"Are you a scavenger? a vulture? I wonder. Poking amidst ruins that were long since cleaned" the scantily clad apostate continued "coming to these darkspawn-filled wilds of mine in search of easy prey" her gaze bore into Aedan and his group "what are you, hmm? scavenger or intruder?" she demanded.

"We are neither" Aedan said politely "I myself, Daveth and Ser Jory here are Grey Warden recruits. And Alistair here is the actual Grey Warden" Aedan's gaze pierced the apostate's one as fiercely as hers was trying to do to him.

"And we would know what exactly have you done with the scroll's we are here for?" Alistair demanded.

"I will not" the apostate scoffed "for t'was not I who removed them"

"Then who did exactly" Aedan said, eyeing the beautiful young apostate suspiciously.

"T'was my mother in fact" the apostate stated bluntly. "But first you; handsome lad will tell me who you are" the apostate asked "let us be civilised"

"My name is Aedan Cousland, m'lady" Aedan bowed.

The apostate raised an eyebrow in pleasant surprise "my my, now that is a proper greeting. Even here in the wilds. You may call me Morrigan"

"Very well then, Morrigan. You say you're mother has the scroll's. Can you take us to her? we need them" Aedan requested.

"Now there is a sensible request" Morrigan laughed "I like you"

Alistair put a hand on Aedan's armoured shoulder "I'd be careful if I were you" he warned "first its 'I like you' but then zap. Frog time"

"She's a witch I tell you" Daveth said nervously "if we follow her she and her mother is a witch too and will put us in the pot!"

"If the pot's warmer than these wilds it would be a nice change" Ser Jory quipped.

"Oooh" Morrigan drawled sarcastically "you fear I will swoop down upon you??"

"Yes" Alistair replied, his eye's boring into Morrigan's "swooping is bad"

"Follow me then, if it pleases you" Morrigan shrugged as she turned and walked away from the group to which Aedan quickly trailed the young woman.

It took quite some time walking through the wilds but eventually Morrigan brought the group to a small shack in the middle of one of the few bits of the wilds that thankfully hadn't been completely swallowed up by trees.

"Greetings, mother. I bring before you four Grey Wardens who..." the other woman who seemed to be Morrigan's mother quickly interrupted.

"I see them, girl. She rubbed her chin thoughtfully "hmm, most to be expected.

If Morrigan was beautiful then the woman who appeared to be Morrigan's mother was even moreso. Her cheeks were beginning to sag but the rest of her; she had what seemed to be some sort of metallic crown adorning the top of her face, earrings in both ear's and her white hair styled into a strange fashion to the point where it was combed back and a few of the hair's seemed to be styled to look like horn's. The horned-styled hair that the witch's hair was styled into certainly looked odd but then Morrigan's mother seemed to follow in her daughters footsteps and her robe showed a generous amount of cleavage; cleavage that revealed that Morrigan's mother had much larger breast's than her daughter. And much like her daughter, the witch had feather pauldron's except whears Morrigan's robe had only one feathered pauldron did Flemeth have one on each shoulder, and far more of the feathers on each pauldron than Morrigan did on her shoulder.

The older woman in front of Aedan caused his young mind to gaze at her partially exposed buxom breast's before returning his gaze to Morrigan's mother's eyes. It seemed that both Wynne and the now deceased Oriana's breast's had some serious competition. Even covered as Wynne's had been too. Although the partially exposed large breast's didn't leave much to the imagination compared to Wynne's completely covered chest.

"Are we supposed to believe you were expecting us?" Alistair said, amused.

"You are not required to believe anything" the witch scolded "shut ones eye's tight or opened one's eye's wide. Either way one's a fool"

"They did not come to listen to your inane prattling, mother" Morrigan groaned. Clearly this was not the first time Morrigan had heard her mother speaking so cryptically.

"True; they came for their treaties, yes?" Morrigan's mother turned and entered what Aedan guessed was her and her daughter's small shack that they called home and returned a few second's later, the scroll's that they were searching for bundled in her arm's before she handed them to Aedan "and before you begin barking, your precious scroll's magic worn out long ago. I have protected these"

"Thank you m'lady" Aedan said to the buxom older woman "we appreciate you returning them" he added.

"Such a nice and civil young lad" the witch turned her gaze to Morrigan "if only one could get such manner's from their own flesh and blood" she said scathingly to her daughter "and since unsurprisingly my daughter has not introduced us properly then you may call me Flemeth, and who might you be?" she asked.

"Aedan Cousland, m'lady" Aedan said as politely to Flemeth as he did her daughter.

"Well then Aedan Cousland" Flemeth smiled "take these scroll's with you and tell them that this Blight's threat is greater than they realized"

"I will" Aedan replied. The entire exchange despite Alistair being the actual Grey Warden it seemed he allowed the young noble to be the one to handle getting the scroll's back? was this Alistair's way of judging if he were fit to join the Wardens? he wondered. And Daveth and Ser Jory were staying out of it, nervous looks on their faces as they looked on suspiciously at Flemeth.

Flemeth turned to Morrigan "show these gentlemen out of the wood's will you, dear girl?"

Morrigan sighed "come along, I suppose" as she bade Alistair, Aedan and his two nervous Grey Warden recruits to follow her.
