Adolphus

Adolphus, you think, might be a good person to have with you. He must be familiar with these men already, after all, and his age might lend you a bit of the gravitas you want to summon. You head down to the main house in search of him.

You find him out in the fields already, overseeing the beginning of the day's work. "Adolphus!" you call out as you approach. He finishes his brief conversation with a ****, then turns and approaches you.

"Yes, Lord Gaius?"

"I'm headed out to visit the local Roman Legion today and inquire as to what they're doing about these brigands. I though perhaps you'd be willing to accompany me? You've got a much better idea of who they are and what the situation is than I,"

Adolphus hesitates, glancing at the fields. "My lord, of course I'd be happy to, but there's so much to do here..."

"Surely you can take one day off? Adolphus, if we don't deal with this bandit threat, there won't be any crops left to tend to!"

That seems to settle him. "You're right, of course, sir. Let me just make sure that my instructions are clear before we head out for the day." He hurries off to speak with a few more of the workers, and before too long you're both on the road.
