Adam forgives Helen

"I can't say that I'm happy with what you've done, but I'm pleased you were at least honest with me," Adam finally said after what felt like an eternity for Helen. She could see by his expression that he was struggling to know how to feel. "I suppose I might have ended up doing something similar if I had your magic."

"But you can have my magic!" Helen gasped, breaking out of her sobbing. "I can teach you the spells I used."

Adam laughed and shook his head with a wry smile. "I had a feeling you might say that. Fine, if it makes you feel better." Adam went to move from the sofa, but stopped and turned to look at his teary eyed girlfriend. "Please don't do anything like that again though, babe."

"I promise," Helen agreed with a solemn nod.

"That's a lot of words to remember just for a few spells!" Adam laughed.

The couple had gone up to the office and had the spellbook open on the desk. Helen had explained the various spells she had learnt to her boyfriend and guided him as he read its unusual, cursive script. She had quickly forgotten her earlier tears and was now fully absorbed in sharing her magic with Adam.

"You get used to it," Helen said confidently.

"I'm sure you do when you use them as often as you have!" Adam chided.

"That was mean," Helen replied with a pout. She quickly perked up again, however, as she thrust a finger towards the open page of the spellbook. "Why don't you try one?"

"Now?"

"Sure, why not?" Helen flicked through a few leathery pages before settling on the one she was looking for. "Why don't you cast this one? Then we can leave our bodies to look after themselves and have some fun possessing people!"

Adam rolled his eyes. "You're obsessed with this bloody magic."

"It is addictive," Helen said, smirking at her boyfriend as he shook his head. Since she had discovered the book, Helen had to admit she had thought about little else. Not only that, she had gotten carried away with her new found magic, and had betrayed Adam's trust. He had seemingly forgiven her, but now she wanted him to try the magic for himself so he might better understand how she was feeling.

'Maybe tomorrow," Adam said. He leaned in to kiss Helen on the forehead, but she pulled away.

"Please, Adam," Helen begged. "Just give it a quick go and see what it's like." She did her best puppy dog eyes and prayed that her boyfriend would buckle. As usual, it worked like a charm.

"Fine!" Adam huffed. "But I don't want to be gone from my body for long."

Helen clapped her hands together in excitement. "Thank you! I've know the perfect place we can go to possess people this evening too."
