Chapter 57 by A.Dent A.Dent

Productive...right...

Actually...surprisingly so

Okay, I'll confess that my original plan was to just crash on the couch and watch some TV. Just for a little bit, to relax, before getting started. Unfortunately, that wasn't an option. The TV was unplugged and wrapped in bubble wrap. And the couch was loaded up with boxes. Actually...much of my stuff was in boxes, and what wasn't was ready to be packed up. One thing that seemed to be untouched was the desk drawer where I had stashed the portion of the coins that hadn't been secured in a safety deposit box a the bank.

Lacking a better diversion, I got to work. Separating the accumulated debris that I didn't need anymore. Stuff to donate in that pile in the corner. Stuff to throw away went into trash bags. Stuff that was making the cut went into boxes for the moves. After a couple hours I had actually gotten just about everything boxed up and sorted. Only a couple of duffel bags worth of clothes for the next few days were empty. I could actually probably move out early. That certainly would make Ellen happy.

"And for that reason alone, I won't be doing that. If nothing but pure petty revenge for the bullshit of the pat couple months I will be hear up until the last minute." I muttered as I tossed the last batch of books into an open box before labeling and taping it closed. Checking my watch, I noticed that Karen and Sofia had been off doing...something for almost two hours. I thought about going to find them, but my stomach quickly announced its displeasure at that plan. "Guess I'll start on dinner."

A couple minutes later, I was had the beginnings of a stir fry going when I heard a voice behind me. "Well, something smells good. And I'm not talking about what's on the stove."

HARK! Who goes there?
