Chapter 27 by Sixth Sixth

Do they progress?

Aaralon assists in the ritual and lets Camila tie him to the tree.

"Alright," said Aaralon, "You don't allow the School of Divinity to be taught to Wizards of my level but what you say makes sense. I think we need to be alert and cautious in these woods - even though they don't seem too bad so far - so please untie me as soon as you can." That said; Aaralon backed once again to the spindly tree at the edge of the clearing.

Camila stepped forwards with the rope, "You are a strange one," she said with a wry smile, "So paranoid about me and yet so quick to dismiss the Whispering Woods. You've that the wrong way round." Camila stepped around behind the tree, drawing the rope around Aaralon's waist as she went, looping it around the trunk and fastening it tight. "There. Can you escape? Judging from the way the bark has been flaked off on the other side of the tree I would say our girl tried to escape."

Aaralon tried. He tested the knot first, simply pulling at the rope but it held. "It's pretty strong. I didn't know gnolls knew how to make rope, let alone strong rope."

"They can't make anything of note although some tribes learn tricks. If this lot are into **** then they may have discovered how. It's also likely they traded with hobgoblins. Okay. Try twisting around the tree, maybe you can escape of you work in some slack."

Aaralon tried his best. He twisted and tugged, although the rope shifted a little to the left and to the right, he wasn't able to budge.

"Good," Camila said with a nod, "Looks like I've got you tightly tied as they had her. Do we even have a name for this girl? I bet Carrie knows."

Camila stepped back, closed her eyes and raised her arms. Aaralon could sense the build up of magic. She was beginning the ritual.

Disruption!

Strangely Aaralon felt the ripples and waves in the web of magic before his eyes saw the invader. Camila's spell was ruined. She let out a shriek! Vines had her. She was trapped.

Dark green vines, each one the width of Aaralon's wrist, had dropped down from the canopy of leaves overhead. The vines were alive. They moved. They flexed. They circled around Camila.

Camila didn't shriek again. She opened her mouth and managed to splutter out the first few sounds of a spell before she was silenced. A vine slid around her face, a length of the green rope slipped between her lips as expertly as any kidnapper would fasten a gag.

"Camila !" Aaralon shouted, tugging with renewed determination on the rope which held him to the tree. Aaralon wracked his mind, he was sure he should know a spell to help out here.

The vines had a strong hold of Camila. Several vines had curled around her ankles and were beginning to lift her up; her toes just skirted the woodland floor. The vines had her wrists too, dragging her arms up and over head.

Damn, though Aaralon, damn. He couldn't attack the vines without risking serious harm on Camila too. He knew no plant spells at all - why should he, plant spells - Come on. He knew how to aport objects, but not teleport himself or anyone else.

Camila was still struggling. The vines were still crawling and curling around her. One of the vines slid down from the canopy above, trailed over Camila's face and squirmed down beneath her slinky dress. The vine slid down her neck, between her breasts and down her stomach. Aaralon could see every inch of its progress as a bulge behind the straining silk.

Camila's dress tore open. It split up the front. She was completely naked, not a bra, pair of panties or even a suspender belt. Beads of sweat were beginning to form on her body. Her breasts heaved and swayed as she struggled. The vines moved against her, forcing her arms up, keeping her legs spread open. The vine which had crawled down her chest and ripped open her dress moved again. The vine curled between her legs.

What next? What can Aaralon do? What can the vines do?
