ANSWERING A ROUTINE CALL

LEE SAN, a new Asian-American recruit thanks to the Police Departments 'DIVERSITY IN RACE & EQUALITY' program or D.I.R.E, having 'no months of real time street experience' under her belt and normally perched behind a desk, dreams of being 'where the action is...IN THE THICK OF IT;

The 'rookie', thanks to a dwindling police , gets her chance, because they are 'shorthanded. LEE SAN will be by herself on this call feeling nervous and a little apprehensive. She realizes this may be her only chance to get out from behind the desk....and eager to prove her worth to Lee's superior, CAPTAIN ROBERTS, she accepts the assignment, figuring it's a normal call, Lee drives to the address...a convenience store, parking her vehicle in the alley, she saw a smashed window and kicked in door thinking 'vandals' entering the establishment cautiously seeing no one.

The cash register drawer is busted wide open and completely empty...bags of chips and merchandise laying on the floor with glass from the cooler doors: "A simple robbery...probably kids" figuring if they didn't wear gloves they can get fingerprints off the POS (POINT-OF-SALE) terminal calling it in. "This is recruit Lee San Badge number 666 at the San Francisco 7-11 on Wilshire Boulevard and Colorado Avenue, I have a code '146' Breaking and entering of a business, Code '594' Vandalism of Property, AND codes '459' & '211' Burglary and Robbery of said premises...Code '4' Disregard perps are long gone" requesting a Forensics Unit for Fingerprint and DNA Samples, "will stay on scene until they arrive Recruit Lee San signing off". 22 minutes later Lee sees a vehicle pull up behind hers, someone walking up to the window tapping on it, "FORENSICS UNIT 247....YOU CALL THIS IN" she rolls the window down and is immediately chloroformed, the passenger door opening as a second perp pins her arms to the seat: "What's happening... What...are...you...doing", it takes about twenty to thirty seconds before Lee's body goes limp,

"We've had our eyes on you for a while now, Miss San...you'll be our first Asian addition, don't worry you'll be with the others soon BITCH"
