In this world while **** slavery was abolished it was still possible to willingly become a ****, there are many reasons people do this, to settle debts so they are not passed on to there children, some people cant handle the stress of everyday life and would prefer to let someone else do all the thinking for them, some get a sexual thrill off of not being in control of there own life, while there are some laws to protect slaves like it is still illegal to kill them and any children they have are born free and must be paid to be raised by the slaves owner, that is where the law stops because once the person becomes a **** they lose all human rights and are legally considered an object with lower status than a pet, slaves that try to run and anyone who helps them are taken by the government and are quoted to be "put to use" although no one is quite sure what that means, slaves that are taken are never seen again.
