A wildfire burned their entire house down after her older sister pranked her.

Lauren woke Sunday morning, rushing to do her morning routine (shower, brush her teeth and hair, and finish packing) before she and her sister would be dropped off at the airport and catch their flight back home. Diana, ever the morning person, was already awake and eating breakfast when she heard her sister groggily enter the bathroom to take her shower. While she was inside, Diana decided to play a small prank on her sister. She removed the underwear Lauren had set aside and packed them in Lairen's suitcase. She quickly took the suitcase and placed it inside their uncle's car, which they would be taking to the airport.

Lauren finished her shower, and dried off with her towel. She dried her hair and went to the bedroom to get dressed. Upon seeing her outfit sans underwear, she cursed her sister, but decided to get dressed before calling her on it. The thin yellow sundress hugged her chest, as it now was unsupported by a bra. The skirt was a bit short, coming down to just past mid thigh. If she twirled fast enough, it would float around her waist, baron her now uncovered pelvic region. She blushed at the thought, but then turned to rage as she stormed out to find her sister.

In the dining room, she found everyone finishing their breakfast. She went to tell off her sister and ask for her underwear back, but her aunt quickly placed a plate of eggs and toast in front of her and urged her to eat before leaving. Lauren ruefully choked down her breakfast and stood up to ask where her underwear was when her uncle announced it was time to go. Diana pulled Lauren by the wrist and led her out the door, where she grabbed her suitcase to be loaded in the car. The car that was no longer in the driveway.

"Uncle Don, where's your car?" Diana asked.

"Oh, your cousin Jennifer drives it to church on Sundays. You didn't think she would walk, or take my van did you?" the man laughed.

Diana bit her lip, knowing her prank just went too far. Her sister would not only have to enter the airport without underwear, bit sit through the entire flight without them as well. She didn't want to let on about her sister's missing suitcase and quickly loaded her suitcase into the van and they set off. Once there, Diana had to break the bad news to Lauren when she noticed her suitcase was missing. Lauren was shocked that her sister would do such a thing, but her uncle reassure her that her suitcase would be shipped to her, so she wouldn't be without her things for at most a week.

Lauren felt relieved and entered the airport security was easy as she had no metal on her body except her phone and keys she kept in a small clutch. Dina had their boarding passes and they entered the plane. The flight was mostly uneventful, bit the sisters were confused when their parents didn't meet them at the airport. It was now evening on Southern California, and the sun was still bright in the sky. They tried calling them at home, bit got a busy signal. Their parents didn't have cell phones, so it was much harder to get hold of them. They waited an hour before they called a cab and went home. Nothing could prepare them for what they saw.

Lauren and Diana got out of the cab, dumbfounded by the scene in front of them. It was like a scene from a post apocalyptic movie. They had to leave the cab and walk on foot to get to their house because of all of the police, fire, and other first responder vehicles blocking the street from what they could see, they hardly recognized the street they called home. On either side of the street where there once stood pristine, unassuming, yet freakishly identical houses there were now piles of ash and debris. Some still smoking. They walked up to a police officer and asked what had happened. He explained a wild fire had started early in the morning, and spread quickly towards residential areas. Many places had to be evacuated, and throughout the day, that area began to get bigger. Many families were displaced, having to evacuate mere moments before their communities were swallowed by the fire. The girls were saddened by the news, but then remembered their parents. They had to know if they were on. They were glad to hear they had no casualties so far.

They were informed that the displaced families would have shelter and food at a local high school gymnasium. The cop gave them a ride and they got out of the car. They found their parents, and were very much relieved they were all safe. Then the subject turned to clothes, which their parents left the house moments before the fire overtook the house. They barely packed their own things to worry about their daughter's clothes and belongings. That meant Lauren was wearing the only clothing she currently owned. Everything else had gone up in smoke. Her parents and Diana all had suitcases of their clothes, but Lauren wouldn't have anything except her suitcase that was still in Indiana, hoping it would arrive soon. The next problem was finding a place for all of them.

"I think I can solve your problem..." said an unknown finisher.
