A visitor in the night

My slumber is roused in the night by a soft voice "Huck, Huck!" The voice calls out I open my eyes "Elyn!?" I say into the night swearing I heard her voice as my eyes adjust to the light I see that my ears were not playing as I see her soft features and blonde hair. I stare at her in just disbelief "w-wha, b-but how?" I stammer, this causes her to giggle a beautiful sound I thought I would never hear again. I am stunned I just watch her giggle seeing her beautiful face made me realise just how deeply held my feelings for her were, she had gone to her father knowing that he would condemn me to **** without a moments hesitation and yet here I was captivated by her for just laughing at my confusion.

Once she stops giggling she speaks up "I wanted to say I'm sorry Huck, after you left my father arranged a marriage for me. I couldn't live with that and I realised what a mistake I had made" I knew I should be more angry but I simply couldn't stay mad at her. "It's ok" I say folding instantly to her apology, we talk for a while where she tells me about how Hearthwood had changed and she couldn't bear to remain there. "Would you let me join you?" Elyn asks "run away with you like you always wanted?" I look at her with awe "of course that's all I've ever wanted" I lean forward to hug her but she moves back avoiding the hug "not yet" she says "o-oh ok".

"How did you find me?" I ask wondering how Elyn, a woman from a life of luxury like me somehow managed to track me down, especially in these woods. "Does it matter? I'm here now for you Huck and I'm never going to leave" hearing her say that filled me with joy "I guess not" I say dismissing the question for now. I look down at her clothes and I'm alarmed that she's dressed in just a dress, it was bitterly cold with snow falling and she wasn't dressed for the weather "your clothes. Are you not cold?" I ask full of concern, "how can I be cold when I'm so full of warmth and love for you Huck" she replies with a cute smile, gods it felt so good to hear her say these words to me.

"Hey you should come with me, I have something to show you" Elyn says excitedly, "uh yeah sure absolutely let me just wake up Quinara and we'll go" I say getting up to walk to her bedroll. "NO DON'T!" Elyn shouts so loud I'm surprised it doesn't wake Quinara herself, "what why?" I ask wondering why she's so against the idea of Quinara joining, "she wouldn't understand, besides it's something I only want you to see" Elyn explains. "Ok fine but I should at least wake her to let her know that I'm going", "no please" Elyn pleads desperately begging for me to not wake my orc companion. "But it's dangerous in the woods, I should let her know" I explain, "please just trust me it's not far we will be back before she even wakes up" she pleads.
