A visitor arrives

“North is outside.”

North? The direction?

Kelly’s confusion must have been plain on his face, because Wendy glanced over to him. “North is one of the fairies from the boy village. He’s a decent enough person…careful though. He’s a flirt.”

“O-oh.” Kelly’s hands instinctively took his arms. It had been kinda surreal the last few days, being among girls and treated like one of them. What if this North character could tell he was a guy too? The last thing Kelly needed was to make enemies now! He still had a duty to do.

Would Lord Rosenberg listen to a fairy? He hoped so, because he wasn’t sure how he was ever going to get back to normal.

Kelly had been too wrapped up in his thoughts, because, before he knew it, Poppy had taken his hand and the girls had flown him out Wendy’s door.

The sudden snaps to awareness made his wings less confident, causing Kelly to tip back and suddenly drop with a yelp.

Despite bracing for the ground with closed eyes, where Kelly landed was a bit softer, though still solid and sturdy, holding him at his back and at the hook of his legs.

“Hello, hello. And what beauty just dropped into my arms?”

Kelly peeked open one eye. He was being held by a man! Or a male fairy, at least by the green wings that were behind his black hair. He smiled down at Kelly, holding him in the air like he was nothing. Kelly felt a heat rising to his cheeks, having a stranger holding the bare skin of both his back and bare legs.

Poppy entered his peripheral, grinning. “Hey, North. This is Kelly. She’s new. That mean dastard Lazaro caught her, but she escaped.”

North grinned, giving Poppy a nod. “Adding a new cute girl to our little group is the only useful thing that man has ever done.”

He glanced down to Kelly, that same mischievous twinkle in his eyes that he’d seen in Poppy’s.

Kelly, hands holding his skirt down, cleared his throat. “C-can you put me down?”

North nodded, with a grin. “Sure thing, sweetheart. But first, my fee.”

North leaned over quickly, lifting Kelly’s face towards his own until-!

The kiss was swift and over in a second, but as he stood Kelly upright, he was left stunned.

Someone had once told him that your first kiss was magical.

He did not think his would turn out so literal.
