A very unusual person enters Edward's life

Edward awoke to the sight of the north sea out his window. The train was chugging along the coast.

It was 11 AM by the time the big, slow engine pulled their train into Edinburg. The three quickly climbed into a carrage and were taken to the army post at Edinburg Castle.

"Mother! Father!" Rebecca called out as she saw them. She was wearing her duty uniform, but Edward could see the beginings of the bump that carried his future niece or nephew.

"Well, there she is..." The countess said, shaking her daughter's hand. The Earl stepped up to get a kiss from his daughter, as did Edward.

"Well, The railway said you'd be delayed, so the General set aside some food for you all."

"Oh, how nice of her." The Earl said.

"Come this way." Rebecca told them.

She led them up to the General's office.

"My Lady, My Lord, Lord Edward..." The older woman said as the three entered her office.

"General... It's good to see you again."

"Yes." She said "and thankfully under such happy circumstances. Richard... Well, I was certain he'd no woman would want him. They boy was always so headstrong..."

"Did I hear my name?" A voice asked.

The Montagues saw a young man walk into the room. His long blonde hair cascaded down his back. He was wearing a bright green dress and wide brimmed hat.

"Lady and Lord Montague, Master Edward, may I introduce to you my son, Richard. Richard, these are Rebecca's parents and brother."

"Oh... My Lady, my Lord... It is a pleasure to meet you." He said with a deep curtsy. He then turned to Edward.

"And to the lovely young master as well." He said.

Edward looked at his future brother-in-law, who had a weird smirk on his face.
