Chapter 9 by Leviathan Leviathan

What's next?

A very awkward second day

"So."

Izuku trembled in his seat, sporting a loose T-Shirt and baggy pants now that he was out of bed and sitting at the cafeteria. The source of the voice, Sakuya, sat in front of him, with Sherry next to her. The former looked kinda scary from his position, not that he was looking even remotely close to her face, while Sherry seemed to be apologetic for some reason.

"You're telling me. That you had a weird dream. Where you were grabbing a heart that was set on fire. And then you woke up, and you just happened to be grabbing Sher's tits instead?" Incredulous didn't begin to describe her tone.

"Sakuya-chan, leave him alone, seriously, it's cool. I think I sleepwalked all the way over to his bed and snuggled up against him and everything, it's not his fault." Sherry leaned towards Sakuya's ear to whisper, but she was so short that her voice was still audible to Izuku in its attempts to reach her. "He's a total sweetheart, helped me a lot with my unpacking without asking for anything in return, didn't even complain. I don't think he would ever do anything weird, to me or anyone."

Her head turned towards her friend. "And you know that just from one night's worth of talkin'? Girl, you're easier than a visual novel, talk about worrying for no reason." Wait, a visual novel? Did she play video games, despite her looks and behavior? "You, I ain't letting you off the hook just yet, just loosing it a little. If I see you trying anything weird with Sher here, your ass is grass, got it?"

"Y-Yes, I'm really sorry for making you this worried, r-rest assured I'd never do anything to her..." Hearing his apology, she sighed, helping Sherry up after she got up herself. "You better. Let's go, Sher. I'm starving~ You gotta tell me everything about your exam, too, remember?" It seemed as if they had met each other during the entrance exam, and got along to this point of protectiveness.

Nearly the moment they left, Uraraka and Iida had slipped into the seats they were occupying, nearly giving Izuku a heart attack with how suddenly they appeared out of nowhere.

"Deku-kun! You gotta tell us, what was that just now? We were looking for you to have breakfast together, and it looked like Manabi-san was picking on you!" The round-faced girl started, and Iida soon continued her train of thought. "As class president, if any of our classmates is being intimidated, it is my responsibility to bring the culprits to the school's authorities. Do tell us, what happened with them?"

"P-Please calm down! It was all just a huge misunderstanding..." It only took him a few minutes to explain the problem while they ate, though their worry soon turned to curiosity.

"What a strange dream! You think it means anything? I once dreamt I was a fluffy butterfly when I was 4, flying away into the sky and eventually reaching space... and then I woke up and I was floating! It's the first time my Quirk manifested. My stomach was so upset, ahahah...!" While Uraraka seemed to be trying to relate to his dream to put him at ease, she could be right. It's been twice that he's felt some form of danger before it even happened, and these weird changes to his body... Could he be awakening his true Quirk this late in life?

...No, there's no way. Quirks have only been registered as showing up at birth or up until four years of age. No Quirk had been known to show up at this late in life - he would know, given how hard he has studied the topic in hope of just being a late bloomer, rather than Quirkless. Although... could his Quirk be evolving, instead?

"That sounds like a mess! Hahah... but, I'm not sure if mine had any significance. A heart on fire to open a large door... I'll have to figure it out on my own."

The bell rung, signalling the start of the school day. Izuku got up almost by reflex, but so did Uraraka on the other side of the table, causing the two to bump into each other by accident.

"Ack, sorry, are you... okay...?" When the two had made contact, it was as if time had slowed down to a crawl. Every little hair on his skin trembled upwards as if by some static in the air, making him extremely sensitive - which only ever reminded him of just how pent up he felt ever since he woke up.

The world's colors seemed to heighten... no, only really the colors of Uraraka's frame themselves. Her eyes seemed just a little bit brighter, her hair softer, her lips so deeply kissable and glossy. He wasn't sure if he was hallucinating, but he could swear her breasts had grown just a tiny bit since the last time he saw her, and her skin looked much more well-cared for than it did yesterday. To say he had butterflies shaking up his stomach would be an understatement. Was... was this how it felt to fall in love?

Surprisingly, Uraraka stood there the whole time they were staring into each other's eyes, looking just as lost as he was. It was Iida who had to break them up once he got up his seat. "You two, we need to get going, the bell's ringing! We shouldn't be late to our first class in this subject!"

Both of them leapt a good couple of feet away from each other as soon as they heard his voice, all while their skin grew increasingly red by the second. "Y-Yeah, let's go, Iida-kun!" At least they managed to avoid an awkward talk by running to class... right?

What's their next class?
