A truth sprayed out

“There shouldn’t be, and certainly not one looking quite so bizarre.” Alex said, taking a closer look at the creature.

…which in turn sprayed her under from head to toe. “OH MY… God? This doesn’t stink. What is this?”

Jane took a step closer, and sniffed her friend. “You’re right. Is this… lavender?”

“I don’t know what is going on here, but I know one thing;“ as soon as Alex looked at her friend, her eyes got locked into hers. Her cool, icy blue eyes. She doesn’t know why, but she knew she had to confess something she felt since she was thirteen.

“I love you and I need you, Jane Abigail Moore.”

“What?” Jane was bewildered, failing to hide the smile on her face. “Is this a joke?”

“No. I wanted to confess to you for over a decade, but never could I muster the courage. And then you started sleeping around, I got jealous and started making fun of you. But I can’t, not anymore!”

Jane stared at Alex, and responded with a kiss. The two started caressing each other, exploring their bodies. I’ve always loved you too, but I thought you weren’t…”

“Oh, but I am gay!” Laughed Alex. “In fact, how about we go into the foliage and I’ll prove it to you.”

“I… I would love to, but we have to find Caroline. Who knows what she got herself into.”

Alex leaned in closer, and softly spoke. “She’ll be fine. So how about you and I do this one thing I always wanted to try out.” She slowly whispered something in Jane’s ear.

“You, you can do that?”

“Pilates does do miracles.”

“…You’re right, Caroline will be fine. I’m sure she has the time of her life.” Smiled Jane.

“We certainly will.” Continued Alex, holding Jane’s hand as they walked into the foliage.

“Say, do you two have any spare clothes or something? It’s a little awkward being the only naked one here.” Asked Caroline.

“Not in the traditional sense.” Answered Sarah, as she stood up from her seat. “But have some animal skin. I’d could make a loincloth for you.”

“Guess that beats being nude, thanks.”

As soon as Caroline put on the loincloth bikini, she asked the scientists, “I’m still not comfortable doing nothing. Even if that Ripper isn’t near them, they could still be hurt by the other creatures. I’m going out.”

“Getting killed yourself won’t solve that.” Protested Kyle. “For crying out loud, we made a goat with the wings of an eagle that squirts out acid like a bombardier beetle, how do you plan on surviving that?”

“Then give my something to defend myself with!” Caroline grabbed a makeshift spear, getting a feel for it’s weight.

“No offense, Caroline, but you need a little more proficiency to use something like that.” Said Sarah.

In response, Caroline took a deep breath, moved her right arm back, and threw the spear. It soared through the air, getting stuck in the wall 72 feet up. Getting a surprised look from the scientists, Caroline replied.

“I used to throw javelin. Think I can defend myself?”
