Chapter 6

A triumphant return
Elrend wished he could have kept the wolves. Their little alpha female would have made a wonderful start to his harem. He'd been tempted to carry her back to show off to the rest of the herd but he knew the wolves would have gone looking for her if she'd been gone too long. As it was he had more than enough proof to verify his story. The spears would have been enough but the loincloths would prove that they had not only beaten the wolves but fucked them as well. There would be no shortage of Does eager to sample the achievers of such an accomplishment. Jendel was understandably disappointed that he'd missed it but Elrend had made the black wolfess mount the incapacitated buck so that he could share in the glory.
They had cleaned up a little bit but still smelled like their conquests. This was noticed as they approached the clearing where the herd made their home. "Elrend? Why do you smell like the Wildfang pack? And what's that you have there? I thought you were just going out to do some exploring?" Ellig, the deer on guard and the one who had trained Elrend to fight, asked.
"We did far more than that! We kicked some wolf tail!" Roe, the youngest of the bucks with Elrend, pronounced in excitement. The jubiliant expression he expected from the older deer didn't appear instead the guard looked to Elrend for confirmation. His face more grim as he looked for signs of injury that would indicate the fight had been to the ****. He relaxed as he saw no scratches or wounds that would require the shaman and decided to get the full story.
"I hope you didn't do anything that might cause a war. What happened?" He asked, making it clear he was waiting for Elrend to answer rather than his companions.
"The wolves shifted the border by the pool near the old elm tree. We stopped to get a drink and a group of huntresses attacked us. We took them down a peg. Jendel needs to get his head looked at but nobody got seriously hurt." Elrend explained. "One of them turned out to be in heat and being the kind souls we are we helped her and the rest of them deal with it." Elrend held up the looted loincloths in victory to demonstrate his point.
"Quite the story. I'll want to hear more about it later, you should go and tell you father of this. The pack can be sensitive about matters of honor. The rest of you should make sure you keep hold of your trophies. Get your story of the fight straight as well. The does will certainly be checking them against each other and I wouldn't want such an accomplished band to be broken up over rivalries." The deer told them. He knew they would all want to say that there had been a hundred wolves and that they had screwed them all into submission with a fawn in every belly.
"Thank you." He told the older buck before turning to his crew. "You guys take care of the Battle of the Pool telling. Make sure not to leave anyone out. There's enough females to go around." Elrend instructed as he entered camp in order to let his father know about what had occurred.
