A stray black cat...

Blake was with her team in Forever Fall collecting some sap for an assignment for our teacher, Ms. Goodwitch. The rest of her team was chatting and having fun while she kept mostly to herself. She did occasionally comment to show she was listening.

“Jaune’s getting better in spars. He managed to land a couple of hits in his last one against Cardin,” said Ruby as she started filling up a jar with sap.

Weiss responded, “Oh please, those were a fluke at best. Cardin’s been taking it easy on Jaune ever since his attitude changed. Some even say that the guidance counselor was the one to convince him to change his ways.”

Ruby practically beamed as she replied, “I’m sure he did. He’s amazing. I can’t wait to see him again.”

Weiss said, “It still doesn’t change the fact that Jaune's skills are abysmal. It’s a wonder how he got into Beacon in the first place.”

Yang smirked before replying, “Are you sure your attitude against him doesn't have anything to with him constantly asking you out, Snow Angel?”

Weiss frowned and crossed her arms, “Don’t you start, Yang. It's ridiculous how he can’t take a hint. He keeps asking me despite the many times I’ve said no. You’d think he would’ve given up by now.”

Yang responded, “True. Maybe, he needs to talk to Mike to set him straight.”

“I very much doubt he has the self-awareness to realize he has a problem, so it's highly doubtful that he’ll seek help,” said Weiss as she filled another jar with sap.

“It's okay. I’ll ask Mike to talk to Jaune. I’m sure he’ll help me if I ask,” responded Ruby with a bright smile.

Blake interjected, “Are you sure that’s a good idea, Ruby?”

Ruby looked like she’d been slapped in the face as she turned to Blake with shock, “Why wouldn’t it be? Mike is so kind and loving. He’d do everything he could to help me if I asked.”

Blake questioned internally why she felt the need to include loving before she responded, “I doubt Jaune is going to change just by talking with Mike. Besides, I don’t think we should trust Mike so easily.”

Yang’s eyes flashed red, “Oh, why the hell wouldn’t we?! Mike has shown nothing but love and kindness to everyone he’s come across.”

Blake flinched for a second before responding, “That’s why. Isn’t it strange that no one has said anything bad about him? Even you were suspicious of him before you met him. I think it's better to be cautious.”

Yang's eyes flickered back to purple, “Blake, I get that you’re concerned, but you have no reason to be. Maybe you should talk to him so that you can see that he’s not the man you think he is.”

Blake thought about Adam and how everyone was content to follow him while thinking that they were doing the right thing. People all across Beacon were singing him praise in one way or another. It was one or two people, but more and more people are showing their appreciation for him. Half of her team is already infatuated with the man. It's the same thing all over again. She couldn’t stand on the sidelines and do nothing.

Blake thought about telling them about her past, but she quickly squashed it as hard as she could. She couldn’t tell them that she was a criminal hiding in plain sight. Even worse she was a terrorist that assisted in the killings of innocent people. She could easily imagine Ruby's bright and cheery expression changing to one filled with horror and disappointment. Yang's eyes would instantly change to one full of anger at being lied to. Weiss would sneer at her as she gazed at her as if she was lower than garbage.

Even if it was what she deserved, she couldn’t go through with it. She liked her team and everyone in it, even Weiss, surprisingly enough, so she nodded to Yang.

“You’re right. Sorry to get you so worked up over it.”

Yang smiled as she wrapped her arm around her and pushed her face into her soft, huge tits. She hadn’t had the opportunity to touch them after they suddenly got a bit bigger for no discernable reason.

“It’s no problem. I’m glad to know you care so much,” teased Yang as she continued to press her up against her chest.

Weiss sighed, “Either way, it seems we’re about done with this assignment.”

Weiss was concentrating on Yang, so she didn’t notice that Ruby had walked up to her. Weiss turned toward her, and Ruby immediately kissed her. Weiss tensed momentarily before closing her eyes and relaxing into the kiss. Weiss even wrapped her arms around her as she reveled in the kiss. She was completely oblivious to the fact that Ruby’s hair was turning completely white. After a long kiss, Weiss disconnected from her and saw that Ruby now had matching white hair.

Everyone was shocked at the change. Blake wondered if Ruby was discovering a second semblance or another aspect of her semblance that she was unaware of. It seemed like she could copy traits from other people. However, when she realized what this meant for her, she instantly grew worried. If Ruby’s new ability could do that, then wouldn’t that mean that it was possible for her to accidentally discover her cat ears and reveal that she’s a Faunus to her team?

Everyone else quickly got over the surprise and started teasing her or theorizing about her new power. At the same time, Blake was almost consumed with fear of her secret getting out. Thankfully, nobody noticed that she was being reticent on the way back from Beacon. She didn’t know what to do. What if it was only a matter of time before she was caught? What would she do if she was?

Part of her knew the answer. She would run away like a coward. She always did that. Every time she had a problem she couldn’t solve; she ran away. She was even contemplating running away now. She didn’t know what to do.

There was one idea that popped into her head. Blake could see Mike about this. She didn’t trust him, but he could get Ruby to stop kissing people if he was as good as he said. She doubted that he could solve her problems, but she didn’t have many options.
