A sober Mary tells it like it is.

Mary lowered her gaze to stare at the table. "I don't know."

John reached over and took her by the hand. "We both know that's not true."

Trying to hold back tears Mary looked up at John. She thought for a moment and decided on the story she would tell. Just as she opened her mouth to begin the waitress returned with two cups and a bottle of saké.

"What exactly did you order John?" Mary asked.

"Saké it's Japanese rice wine. It's very good and very potent." John replied as he poured both of them a drink.

"I don't know if I should. I'm not even legal to drink yet." Mary nervously said as she spied around the sparsely populated restaurant as though she were expecting the police to jump out and arrest her as soon the liqueur touched her lips.

John laughed. "Don't worry. It's Tomorrow Con. There is so much underage drinking down here that no one even checks I.D.'s."

Mary stared at her cup for a moment before pushing it aside. "It's too early in the day."

Annoyed, John took her cup and downed it as well as his. "So, back to my question," John started as he refilled both their cups. "Why did you kiss me?"

Mary turned her gaze away from Johnbefore answering. "I was just being silly."

John refilled Mary's glass once more. "And were you just being silly while you fondled my sleeping sister."

All the color drained from Mary's face. "You saw?"

John drank his cup of saké before responded. "Yeah, I saw my sister laying in your lap with her tits completely out in the open."

"Well, I did cover them," Mary stated as she stared down at the floor.

"True but that leads me to believe there was something more behind you kissing the brother of girl you had just groped," John stated.

Mary sighed. "Look for some reason your sister didn't button her top. She fell asleep and toppled over into my lap. Her shirt, because she hadn't buttoned it, was left wide open. I was trying to be discreet and find something to cover her so her brother wouldn't get an eyeful of her tits. Obviously, I now know I failed." Mary then turned her head to look directly into John's eyes. "I felt a little awkward after the whole situation. So I thought I would play a joke on you to cut some of the tension. I was going to embarrass you by pretending to give you a kiss. When I only ever intended to give you a playful peck, but you in typical male fashion thought it was something more than it was and full on passionately kissed me. I tried to let that go as it was partially my fault. That is I was until you attempted to shove your tongue in my mouth. Which is why I was finally **** to pull away from you. I wanted to forget even that and just let it all go, but someone here would just not take the hint. Now John does that answer your question?"

As Mary had finished her face began to flush with anger, she continued to stare directly into John's eyes.

"Sorry, I didn't realize," John replied apologetically.

Then just as their sushi arrived Mary looked at John and said. "I've lost my appetite. I probably should head to registration."

With that said Mary got up and left John alone.
