Chapter 3

Where do they go?
A small clearing
Zelda agrees and Purah takes them to a small clearing just outside of Hateno, far enough away that the noise won't bother residents.
There's an odd shape in the middle of the clearing covered in a sheet and Zelda and Impa each take a seat as Purah whips the sheet off with a flourish. Underneath is a Guardian Scout II that Purah had modified, giving it extra arms with grabbing clamps as well as a basic guardian shield, sword, spear, and axe. The whole thing looked a bit of a mess as it's arms whirled around into place and its head twitched left and right.
"What do you think!?" Says Purah as she looks over excited at the princess and Impa to see them staring quizzically at the construct, not sure about it. Purah steams a little. She'd expected them to be as excited as she was. "Umm sorry Purah but so far all you've shown me is a Guardian that isn't immediately trying to kill me, which I've definitely seen before." Said Zelda. Purah rolled her eyes. "It's not _just _a guardian, I've managed to get into the behavioral programming of it! I've been able to teach it basic tasks and respond to commands like this!" with that, Purah directed the robot to a tree nearby. "Guardo, make wood from that tree" she said. The guardian (apparently nicknamed Guardo) walked over to the tree a little jittery and it's arms whirled into place. It put it's axe on its right side and started hacking at the tree. After a few swings the tree fell down and it moved along the truck and hacked at it, turning it into usable chunks of wood.
Purah looked back at the other two who were now a little more invested. "So it's a logging robot?" asked Zelda "that could help with the reconstruction effort" she proposed, nodding and thinking through the idea. "Not exactly revolutionary but helpful"
"No no no!" said Purah, frustration building. "You aren't seeing the potential! They can be given tasks! We can make them more than just shrine guards or war machines!"
"Well" said Impa, a little frustrated at her sisters childishness, "what else can it do then? Or did you program it to chop wood and that be all?"
Purah shot Impa a glare. "It could make deliveries or assist in peacekeeping, I've even designed it to target people non lethally" she said. "Imagine a robot that could pull deliveries from town to town and protect itself along the way"
"Protect itself?" said Zelda, cringing at the device as it jittered and emitted sparks here and there. "Yes!" Said Purah. "Come try and attack it your majesty, I have it set to non lethally deal with threats"
Zelda shrugged and walked up to the machine. She pushed it a little and the machine caught both her hands in its clamp hands and held her still, "Ow, ok" said Zelda, rubbing her wrists as it released her in front of Purah. "Well that is good, but I'm not exactly a threat physically, could it fight say, someone like Impa?" Zelda asked.
Purah and Impa's eyes met and they glared at eachother. "No way that hunk of metal can lay a finger on me" said Impa. "Master Link has dealt with dozens of them, even stronger versions, I'm sure I can handle this one."
"Well I'm happy for your overconfidence to lead to your downfall, sister" Purah shot back.
Impa rolled her eyes and Zelda went and sat down. Impa walked up to the robot and stood in a fighting stance, her Kodachi held before her.
The guardian whirred as it recognised a threat but didn't attack, unsure what to do.
"Try not to break it please Impa" Zelda called from the sidelines. "And don't hurt her" she called to Purah before settling back on her stump, excited to watch the match.
