A shadowy, cloaked figure

You struggle to make your newly-awakened vision work properly. The candles have long since burned out, and you quickly rub your eyes in an attempt to come to your senses. You cautiously repeat your demand, "Show yourself!" as you finally reach your sword. Your eyes have adjusted to the darkness considerably more by this point, but you still cannot make out much of the shadowy figure that lurks in the moonlight other than the ragged cloak it dons.

"I am no harm." The figure speaks suddenly out of the darkness with a strangely gravelly voice that doesn't sound like it fits, and with an accent unfamiliar to you, "I am here with warning: do not look in the woods. If you do, there are... Bad consequences. Very bad. It will be fixed without you soon. It is none of your trouble."

"I'm afraid I can't do that." You test your grip on your sword with your dominant hand while keeping your eyes focused on the mysterious shadow that looms in the moonlight. You are at least glad they have opened up a dialogue, especially a passive one, even if you aren't appreciating their message. "Innocent people under my rule have been hurt, it is my duty to see to it the matter is resolved. You will tell me everything you know about what is going on. Now."

The figure has still not moved at all. A dense silence hangs in the air. Apparently this is not what the cloaked intruder had hoped you would say. You have your sword at the ready, but they haven't made any threatening statements.
