A ruse

Svetlana appears puzzled as she looks out of the window of the car but she hasn't said anything since leaving the estate. Earlier, after Abby drew up the papers you asked for, you had taken a shower, gotten dressed and woken Svetlana up. Then, you had told her to put on a bikini and just throw a robe over it, saying that you needed her to go with you to a swanky pool party. She was **** until you threatened to tear up her contract and she quickly did as told and followed you downstairs where you had the car and driver waiting.

Now, as you're nearing the destination you had told the driver earlier, Svetlana is starting to suspect that something's not adding up. For one thing, you're dressed in a crisp button down shirt, nice pants and leather shoes, certainly not pool party attire no matter how swanky.

The destination, a place Abby had directed you to, is a nondescript building downtown that could be anything from outside. The driver heads to the underground parking garage in the building and the vehicle is stopped by security. When the driver lowers the window to greet the security guard, they seem to know each other and the guard peers into the back where you smile and nod politely at him. The guard gives you and the driver the thumbs up, before the barricade is raised and the car is allowed to enter the garage. According to Abby, Nigel used to be a regular here although he was only a spectator and never participated. The driver is able to find the entrance to the elevator and drops you and Svetlana off. You tell him to just wait in the car until you're done.

There are about half a dozen security guards all dressed in black suits waiting by the elevator and one of them asks for your ID. You show it to him, hoping that Abby had done her job properly and put your name on the list. Indeed, after he checks his phone and compares your ID, he beckons for you and Svetlana to follow him into the elevator. Inside, he presses the buttons for the 6th and 7th floor. When the elevator door opens on the 6th floor, there are a bunch more similarly dressed security guards waiting there and the guard with you motions for Svetlana to exit. You're about to follow her when he extends an arm to block you.

"Only her. You're upstairs with the rest of the guests," he says sternly. Svetlana looks over her shoulder as she steps out of the elevator and looks alarmed.

"Just go with them!" you say dismissively as the doors close and you see Svetlana being led away down the hall.
