A question

“WHA…..” says John as he wakes up sweating in his bed “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!!”

As he screams this he hears something in his room and looks towards the sound: it appears to be William preparing his armor and weapons for travel. William doesn’t even look up before he says “it appears master Johnis having nightmares again…..it has been happening quite often recently my lord are you sure that you do not want me to give you a sleeping drought?”

This man must’ve been going crazy if he’d been having dreams like that thinks John“ no, no I’ll be fine I just need to catch my breath before I get ready to leave for the duke’s castle”

“Good, my lord I will prepare your horse Ajax while you pepare. Don’t forget your casting book”

“thank you William I will be down in a moment”

As William leaves John sits up in his bed and asks himself “what was that? Am I insane?” He sighs and thinks to himself “well if I’m insane, then this life sucks and that man…..” he sits upright as he remember something the man from his experience when he died said “you will remember your previous life”

“DAMMIT, if I had known that he would scare me with my old life like that I would’ve asked to not remember! Now where is that damn book!!” as he says this he searches his room and finds a rather large bookshelf with many large books written in runaic

“Luckily, I can read this stuff….Now lets see” as he looks at the books he sees that many are actually spellbooks for beginning mages and towards the bottom appears to be a book written in runaic saying “my spellbook”

Johngrabs the book opens it and sees several spells and speaks to himself “wow, knight-mages must be really weak if they can only use two spells….luckily I’ve got some magic of my own” Johnraises the book and says “Darkniess” the rooms light flickers for a second and goes out Johnrepeats the spell and the lights come back on….he also appears to not have suffered any backlash for the spell. “Well that’s new! The new gift I must’ve received must’ve been a larger durability for spells!!

As Johnlook down he sees the spell he just cast appear in the book and hears a voice in his head “THE SPELL HAS BEEN ABSORBED” “hmmmm,must be a mages learning book I heard they absorb the spells cast by their user” he says this as he heads down to the stables

As Johnarrives in the stables he sees a large chestnut brown horse alongside a smaller packhorse…. “wow, that must be ajax” as Johnsays this the large chestnut changes where he is staring and looks at Johnand neighs “smart, too” as Johnsays this he comes up and feeds ajax a carrot he had found in the tack room that he had passed when he had entered.

After he finishes feeding ajax he looks at William and says “I suppose we are to meet duke isold in his castle of Feala?”

“why, Yes my lord supposedly he has a mission to test his new knight….it will take us a fortnight to get there”

“allright then let us head out don’t want to disappoint an important man”
