The unrest

As William and jacob travel on their horses throughout the countryside, jacob seems to notice the lands seem…….different then from his village. As he thinks about the wheatfields of his own village he wonders what may have caused this seeming disaster on the land. “William!”

“yes,milord?”

“this land…..its barren. Why is this? Is it due to lack of caring, monsters, invaders? And if so why hasn’t the duke done anything?”

“why milord do you not remember the Great War of Magic that happened twelve years ago? The king expressly sent most of the mage-knights to the front under the leadership of mages named Frazic, and the necromancer-mage Robert. Its why there are so few mage-knights today and yet magic seems to be growing”

“Yes,yes of course I remember” Jacob says hurriedly remembering his father Robert telling him of a great war for magic that cost to much” what does it have to do with this land though?”

“Why my lord…..Its the land your father took from the profaners of magics practice,the land he purified with their blood some time ago”

Jacob thinks to himself “SHIT, now im in enemy territory”as he thinks this he loosens his sword in its sheath and prepares spells.”William just for safety’s sake be prepared for anything”

“yes….mastERGGH” as William responds an arrow appears in his shoulder as if it was….was magic.Jacob launches himself from ajax tackling William as he does so. “DAMMIT WILLIAM”

“Whaa…milor….”

“SHUT UP WILL YA TRYING TO THINK OF A SPELL!!”as he thinks of a basic shield spell runes appear around him varying in colour he touches a purple one with his finger and says “Reiga!!!!!!” a massive purple looking shield appears around them both as arrows thwak against it

Jacob looks up and sees one elf and two goblins each armed with a bow and a sword
