Kime turned her head back. Miss Perinoup brought down the paddle 5 more times. These swats were slower and more deliberate. They had Kime letting out a small scream after each one. Kime stayed in position crying.

Miss Perinoup: That was for peeping. Now you will get your punishment for touching yourself.

Miss Perinoup went to the plant in the corner and pulled off a springy stick. By the time Miss Perinoup had removed the leaves, the branch had grown back. Emid was surprised how casually this tutor was using magic. The newly picked switch was brought down with a whistle. Emdi had barely taken his eyes off Kime except to see the branch grow back but he missed where the stick had struck. There was a pause before the next stroke.
