A portal site

Lillian had reached a rather large clearing. And in the middle of it was a stone circle around two meters in diameter. When she got closer the half-elf noticed that the outer part of the circle was covered by writing in a language she did not recognize. In the center was another circle, this one a meter in diameter and covered by strange runes, probably magical. Lillian needed a minute to figure out what she had found.

A portal site – that’s what she had stumbled upon. She had heard of these places, but she was seeing one for the first time. According to what she knew (which wasn’t very much) portal sites were created and used by powerful magicians. Any spellcaster with the required skills, power and knowledge could use such a site to travel from one place to another in a matter of seconds, regardless of the distance. Lillian had not expected to ever find such a place. Too bad she was all alone so there was no one to open a portal for her, and she couldn’t do it herself – it would be an excellent way to get away from that Stalker.

Lillian froze in her place. Stalker? Yes, that’s what that beast was, she realized – a Stalker. A female half-orc hunter – one of her clients from the time she had worked as a whore at the brothel – had once told her how she had met and escaped two such beasts, seriously wounding one of them in the process. At the time Lillian had been too busy licking the woman’s pussy and ass to listen carefully, but from what little she could remember the half-elf thief realized that she was in very serious trouble. She needed to get to a place with lots of people, and fast. Or she could wait there hoping that a miracle would happen (such as a portal opening on its own, or a spellcaster appearing and helping her, or the beast failing to find her), but Lillian didn’t believe in miracles. So she needed to go. But which direction to choose? She had no idea where she was in the first place. And she also needed to remember where the portal site was because its exact location could earn her a nice sum of money if sold to the right person…
