Chapter 8 by Gabranth Gabranth

What's next?

A not so rude awakening

The next thing Diaz knew he felt something hard hitting him on the head. “Hey, would you wake the hell up already were nearly there.”

“Ugh, why did you hit me in the head? You could’ve just asked,” Diaz yawns.

“Ask you to wake up that’s hilarious, what do you think I did? Or do you think I would just hit you for no reason?” The priest snorts, “Anyway if you have any more questions ask them now cause as soon as we arrive I’m taking you to the entrance, and washing my hands of you. “

“well I can’t think of too much, but does the color of a stone mean something?” Diaz asks, “Or is it just random?”

“Hmm I suppose I can answer that one, but it will be kind of a weird answer. “ The priest lets ’s out, “the best answer is that it means nothing and everything. Nothing because it’s just the natural color of your mana, and everything as some colors means that you would have a unique mana affinity. I’m sorry but that’s the best way I can explain it, as even I don’t even know everything about the colors.”

“wait you mean you don’t know everything that’s a first,“ Dia snickers.

“And I suppose you do,” the priest says with contempt. “Remember demon that I can still kill you as your master is still an untrained mage. “ He then proceeds to grab his staff, “Do you even know the position you are in? You a pathetic excuse for a demon, A true bottom feeder, only imps are below you. Sure you can talk all the trash in the world, but it will have consequences. So if you want to live I suggest that you look at your position and start to at least try to get along with your master, and more importantly stop disrespecting me.”

Dia shrinks back from the priest moving closer to Diaz mumbling, “ Yes sir, I I I’m sorry,” in a near inaudible tone.”

“Thanks now if you would be so kind to leave me alone. The order has helped me deal with your kind, but I still can’t stand you or your masters. “

Minutes passed before Diaz built up the courage to try to speak, “Look I should apologize to I have given you less than what I should, and I know that you probably will not consider me a friend or even someone worth your respect, but if I can ever make it up just let me know.”

“I shall think on what you said boy, but no I don’t think you can. Some things can’t be fixed. It’s better if you learn that now, rather than later like I did.” The priest mumbles not bothering to look at him.

The rest of the trip is in silence until they pull up to the academy, “My god this place is huge it looks like you could fit an army in there. “

“That’s because you can, but It has not been used for that in more than 10 thousand years.” The priest explains, “It was Known as Fort Black Rock for years, but now it’s just called the Black Academy. Now,” he says handing Diaz a stack of papers, “This is where we say goodbye. When you go inside look for the front desk the people there will sort you out, and good luck I know I have Been rude to you as well.” He then gets back in the carriage. “And the name is Zeval,” he mutters as the carriage rides off. Causing Diaz to look up at it.
