A night attack

As all the manor sleeps at night, you are waken up by the bells of the church. Somebody has attacked the manor!

All your knights rush out without any time to get their armour on. {if Strength > 0}You too grab your dagger and try to help them in the battle, but you must take extra caution, as you don't have anything to protect your body!{endif}{if Strength = 0}You help your female servants barricade the main door from the inside, to prevent the attackers getting inside.{endif} The attackers are many, you can't even count them in the darkness. After some fighting the raiders are repelled with relatively minor casualties, there are only wounded men on your side, but the enemy lost a few dozen.

As you inspect the attackers, they all appear to be usual peasants and serfs, they had no proper weapons only a few tools, usually used by them to work the fields. Most of them are very skinny, it seems they must have been barely able to hold their own weapons... A couple of them survived and got captured, they tell you they were driven by hunger as there was nothing left for them to eat, hence they tried to get some food by raiding your manor. They are the serfs of a nearby lord, whom they fled and tried to steal from your granary, but one of your watchman discovered the theft and sounded the alarm which has led to an armed conflict.

Lily: If this goes on like this such raids will go more frequent... Most of the crops have already failed, but the orchards could still provide a good enough harvest is a huge rain comes in the following weeks... That would ease the hunger of the serfs from the estates that didn't have enough supplies stored for such a case.
