Alex climbed to her feet and I cleared our trays. We strolled off into the throng of people as she told me about her parents and the hardships they had been facing before my 'generous' act at lunch. "I need you to do me a quick favor here," I interrupted. "First, close your eyes and picture something for me." I began scanning her thoughts as I guided her with my words. "Tell you what, let's give it a day or a week and see if you like it. If not I can make some more tweaks or you can go right back to your old self, whatever you want."

She paused, mulling over the options and finally nodded. "Okay. One day for now. But, you have to tell me how you did it and what else you can do."

"That's a little difficult, but I'll try. First, we should go somewhere a little more comfortable, don't you think?"
