A much-needed confession

Ming Zhao turns and storms out of the cafeteria, but I swiftly catch up to her in the hallway. She faces the wall, unable to look me in the eye.

"Is that true?" I ask. "What they said?"

"Just go away," she sniffles, her shoulders shaking. "Go back to the lab and get your clothes."

"Please, just tell me it's true." I say, sounding almost desperate.

She turns to me, red faced and teary eyed, and whispers, "Yes. It's true. I know its stupid, but we started working together, and I started to get this big crush on you. I couldn't work up the nerve to tell you."

"You were nervous about that, but not stripping in front of me?" I ask.

"That was different!" Ming Zhao shouts. "It's not that I think you hate me or find me unattractive. I just didn't think you'd ever want to go out with me or get serious with me. I don't have a lot of luck with long relationships, okay?! I'm a pervy dork who created an invisibility serum just to see her co-worker naked!"

I'm in so much shock. Not from her confession, but the fact she thought I would have turned her down. "Ming Zhao, I've had feelings for you since the way we met! I look forward to helping you with your experiments every day! I can't even tell you how excited I got when I realized we'd be spending the day together like this!"

Ming Zhao looked at me. "Y-you mean it?"

"Of course I do."

She smiles weakly. I cup her cheek and use my thumb to wipe her tears away. She leans into my embrace, coming closer and closer until her lips touch mine. As we both kiss, I pressed her against the wall and held her in my arms.

I'm shocked out of the romance when her hands grab my ass. "Wait! We should go back to the lab."

She tries to kiss me again. "No. I need you now."

"We'll get caught!"

"We're invisible, remember? I'll be quiet."
