Chapter 12 by Dayeandknight Dayeandknight

Who was calling?

A minor fall

Robin shook his head on the way to his apartment, trying to process the events of the day. Bloodstone was a bust, he lost all his clothes but the ones he was wearing, and John would be home any minute.

“What else could go wrong?” he grumbled.

Fate, of course, loves to be tempted. Just as Robin went to step up on the curb, the tip of his shoe caught the edge of it and Robin felt something rip. His shoe separated from its sole and the surprise was too sudden and Robin fell. His head thumped on the door of the apartment building and his vision went black.

“Robin? Robin, are you okay?” someone said in the distance.

Robin opened his eyes and everything felt so strange. His hearing came back slowly and his vision soon followed after. John was crouched over him and stopped him from getting up.

“Get off me,” Robin said weakly trying to push him off.

“Don't move. You might have hit your head,” he said.

Robin furrowed his brow and looked disbelieving at John. What did he mean, might have? Robin doesn't usually sleep out on the apartment steps.

“You should have stayed in bed and called me if you felt this bad,” His eyes were filled with worry.

It started to dawn on Robin that John just thought he was really sick. “I'm fine.”

“Baby, you are not fine. You need to see a doctor,” John struggled to keep Robin from sitting up.

Hearing John call him “Baby” gave Robin the strength to free himself from his grasp. Quickly, he stood and realized his mistake in doing so as the world started to spin. Luckily for Robin, John was there. He sprang up and held him steady.

“You shouldn't move. You could have hurt your neck or something. I should call an ambulance,” John fretted.

“I'm just a little dizzy.”

“This is not 'a little' dizzy. You need to see a doctor.”

“No doctor.”

“I'm not fighting you. I'm calling an ambulance.”

“No.”

“Either I call or I drive. Which do you want?”

Robin was having trouble continuing to argue with his head was spinning and throbbing as it was.

“No. Ambulance.”

“Okay, no ambulance then.”

Robin was lead over to his car and soon they were off. John wasn't happy with Robin's response but he needed to get her some medical attention. He held her hand as they drove, filled with worry. She was always so stubborn and it drove him crazy sometimes. The fact that he got her in the car at all was a pretty clear sign of how bad she was feeling. When they got to the hospital, he sat Robin down and spoke to a receptionist.

“Hi. My girlfriend has been really sick and is super dizzy. When I got home, I found her on the ground...I don't know how long she was there.”

“We will get someone to see her right away. I'm going to need to you sign her in and fill out a few forms.”

Soon, Robin was sat in a wheelchair and John filled out her information. After getting up and handing it in, he saw Robin holding herself and shaking a bit. He also finally noticed the floppy shoe she was wearing. He told her that he would see if he could find a hoodie in the car and that he would be right back.

Back at his car, he looked through his mess of a trunk and promised himself that he would clear it out. Tossing random debris around, he uncovered something pink. Much of his ex-girlfriend's stuff was left behind and it looked like her hoodie was no exception.

“Lucky for Robin,” he thought.

Pulling it out, two objects came thumping out on to the parking lot with a *clomp* *clomp*. Two heeled boots had been wrapped up in the hoodie, apparently. He didn't like the idea of Robin wearing anything with a heel at the moment but it was probably safer than wearing her broken sneaker. With the items in hand, he came back to Robin who was right where he left her.

“Put your arms up.”

“What, is this a robbery now?” she smirked but did as she was told.

He slipped the pink hoodie onto her arms and zipped it up for her. Next, he removed her shoes and slid the heeled boot on. Fortunately, she was the same size and they zipped up perfectly.

Robin wasn't a fan of the color of the hoodie but at least he was warm. His feet felt odd but any time he turned his head down, the room would spin. He decided to just let it go for the moment. It wasn't much longer before someone came by and took Robin and John to a room where they would wait for the doctor.

What happens next?
