A long goodbye

Eventually, as night falls, you and the girls agree that it’s time to head out. Everyone had a great time, and you’re happy to see that Saya meshes with everyone really well. The somewhat shy orc loosened up after a while, and you can clearly see how excited she is to have a sponsor family. For their part, Dave, Lisa, and Katie are also obviously excited to have her, and it makes you smile to see them all so happy.

As you’re saying your goodbyes, Lisa comes over, smiling. “This was fun! Everyone gets along so well, it’s like we’re one big family.”

You chuckle. “I’m a way, we are. You guys are my closest friends outside of the girls.”

Lisa nods. “I feel the same. And I hope that it only gets better from here!”

Before you can ask what she means by that, she laughs, and kisses you on the cheek. Her green eyes sparkling, she winks at you, before walking off to say goodbye to the others. You stare after her for a moment, until Dave comes up and claps you on the shoulder, chuckling.

“Caught you off guard, didn’t she?”

You laugh, turning to him. “Yeah, they’re plotting something, but they won’t share.”

Dave nods. “Yup. I’m in the dark too, but I trust Lisa and Katie, just like I’m sure you trust Mazzy and Dakota.”

You grin. “Oh, for sure. They’re silly, but they wouldn’t do anything that they thought would cause problems for us.”

Dave chuckles. “Lisa has changed since Katie joined us, but only for the better. I want to know what they’re plotting, but I’m not worried about it being bad or anything.”

You nod. “Yeah. It’s curiosity, mostly. And Lisa doesn’t seem that different to me.”

Dave shrugs. “She’s more open to things. Especially in bed, if you know what I mean! Hell, when we got married, there’s no way I could have seen her agreeing to adding another woman to our family. And now…shit, man, she got Saya in bed before I did!”

You laugh. “Can’t say I blame her for that!”

Dave grins. “Damn right. Anyway, yeah, I imagine whatever they’re cooking up will be a lot of fun for everyone.”

You nod. “Yeah. Ok, bud, we should get going. See you at work tomorrow.”

He puts a hand on your shoulder. “One thing, Brian. I think the boss knows about the cafe and your involvement. Obviously he can’t fire you just for that, but I’m guessing your days are numbered anyway. Next time you make a mistake, I’m betting you get let go.”

You shrug. “I knew it would come to that. With the girls bringing in money from the cafe now, it’s not an issue. I’ll worry about it when it happens.”

Dave nods. “Figured. Just thought I’d tell you what I’ve heard.”

You smile. “Thanks, man.”

Just then, Mazzy bounces over and takes your hand. “Are you two done, or do you need to make out first?”

You laugh. “Suddenly in a hurry, Mazzy?”

She giggles. “You could say that, my love. We have things to do!”

She winks at you, and Dave laughs. “I won’t get in the way of that! See you later, both of you!”
