Chapter 5 by protoborg protoborg

What's next?

A little high-tech intervention.

The drone hovering outside the barn now phased through the thick oak door as it had determined that operative intervention was needed. Hovering silently over the preacher's head, it displayed a message to the poor girl chained to the floor. The message told the girl to not alert the preacher to the drone's presence. The human girl nodded ever so subtly then turned her eyes back to the older human and continued to watch him as he fondled her chest. The drone reported to Alex on the ship that it had located the former human subject. It requested further orders. A few moments later, it received confirmation of its recommended actions. Moving into position, the drone began to analyze the best way of incapacitating the human without altering him to its presence. It would need to put the human into unconsciousness without harming him. It would then need to signal for a retrieval of the hybrid. After a few moments of "doubt", the drone leaped into action.

The drone descended towards the preacher and activated its stun gun. Firing a single dart into the preacher's neck, the drone circled lower and lower as the man fell slowly into an **** pile of flesh and bones. The hybrid had a rather stunned look on her face. The drone flashed a message on its display indicating that she was in no danger and to hold on while an operative was called to release her. The girl nodded looking VERY scared. She was not stupid by any means and she clearly was scared of the situation while being willing to accept any kind of help she could get. The drone drifted a bit lower and removed the girl's gag. Activating its external audio output, the drone began to explain the situation. The girl seemed to grasp the situation and was noticeably less panicked now that she knew she would not be harmed by this strange floating thing from some other place. She was also grateful to not have to worry about being hauled off to some government facility to be poked and prodded for the rest of her life.

Moments later, the air started to almost shimmer as the operative beamed into the barn. The alien looked almost human save for the thin layer of fur that covered the clearly naked being from head to toe. The girl was strangely attracted to this alien being. It was partially due to the fact that he appeared to be of the same species as her, the animal part of him anyway. As far as the "human" part was concerned, the alien really did not seem any different in shape to a human being. His eyes were perhaps a bit further apart and his head was maybe a bit rounder on top and pointier on the bottom than normal, but overall he just looked like a strangely proportioned human who had been infected like she had. She smiled at the very attractive male when he leaned down to her. Her tail even started to wag.

"My name is Alex. I am commander of the local contingent of the Galactic Federation. We are the Protectorate of Sentient Beings and we are here to liberate you from your own kind as they have clearly turned their backs on you."

Seeing the look in the human's eyes, Alex spoke again. "Do not worry about that man." He pointed at the preacher's **** body. "He will be unharmed. He is currently asleep. It will last another 30 of your minutes. We shall leave a note for him to let him know that he has been saved from committing an interstellar crime."

"A crime? What kinda crime was he 'bout ta commit?"

"It is serious crime to inflict one's religious beliefs on another sentient being. The penalty is 50 of your years in prison."

The girl looks up at the tall alien in disbelief. She can't quite wrap her mind around the idea of interstellar crime and punishment. So she does the first thing that comes to mind.

"Hey. You mind unchaining me here? I assume that's why the flyin' toaster over there didn't free me."

"If you mean that it is incapable of releasing your bindings, you are correct. You are also correct in your assumption that i am here to free you. However, you are incorrect when you refer to the drone as a 'flying toaster' as it is far more than simply an appliance."

"I meant no disrespect to the little fella. I just didn't have a better description fer the thing. I suppose I best be appologizin' to it."

"The drone has no feelings as it is not sentient. But I accept your apology."

"If you say so, stranger." After a moment, she cleared her throat and indicated the bindings with her head.

"Yes, of course. My apologies."

"No need to apologize so long as you untie me."

A minute later, the girl, the drone, and the alien stood in the barn looking at each other. Well, the alien and human were looking at each other. The drone just hovered there waiting for further orders from Alex.

Now what?
