What's next
A little bit more about yourself
You knew how to read, your mother taught you. She said it was important that you be able to read things that were given to you. However, it was the tradition in this land that princesses were kept sweet and innocent as your father put it, your mother confirmed this; she knew only a little more than you and relied on her husband to run the country. Therefore all you ever had to read were children's stories and a few letters that had occasionally been sent by your father to inform you of important news. This is how you had learnt that a few years ago you somehow got a baby brother. You had never seen a baby or a boy but it was good to know one was out there and that he would visit you after you had been claimed.
You didn't know how to write, neither did your mother. This meant that once you had been claimed you had to dictate anything you wished to record or send. Unbonounced to you, this meant that whoever transcribed the notes could change what you said and censor your words or make you seem smarter to the general public so their queen would not look like an idiot. The people expected the princess to be a bit ignorant of normal life but not the epic level of naivety that noble men desired. Of course, if a peasant somehow claimed a princess or nobles daughter they too were unlikely to be able to write or possibly read. This then ensured that a noble hired to do this for them had the real power.
You had been taught what your mother called "Useful Skills". These were: cooking, sewing, cleaning, drawing and how to use and mend household objects.
One day a letter came. It was left at the bottom of your tower by a messenger who had paid the dragon a gold coin to pass and showed it the symbol of the king. You went down the steps, past your socks and shoes and got the letter then back up to your "Study" (a room with a desk where you kept your books and letter. You also had some drawings scattered around and some games you played to keep you amused. They were very childish and only required one player but you had got very good at them. Most of your drawing were of your dragon. You had got very good at drawing it as it was the most interesting thing. You had even done drawings of the dragon breathing fire, roasting knights and eating them after.
You read the letter, It said your mother and father were sick. They had been sick before but never both at the same time. You had also been sick, it was not nice but you always got better in a few days. You had been taught how to look after yourself when you were sick and what to eat and drink to get better. You paid the note very little attention and went back to drawing. Your next step in your current series was to observe and draw the dragon poo out what was left of the knight they ate. You had observed yourself that things you ate like corn came out in your poo and felt pretty pleased with your discovery. You had learnt something your parents hadn't directly told you.
