In the upcoming weeks, you saw more and more knights come to claim you. They seemed better equipped. Some even wound the dragon which made interesting drawings. You mother had arranged for fresh art supplies to come with your food and water many years ago. You had run out of paper for this week and had to wait for more.

Some of the knights survived long enough to shout up to you that they had been sent by your father, but none ever made it to you.

Almost a year passed until you received another note. It said that your father had recovered from his illness but your mother had died. This came as a shock to you, sickness could kill! You thought only the dragon could kill. Now you were terrified of getting sick. You wept in your bed for a day. Time passed as you grieve the loss of your mother, she would never see you be claimed.
