Chapter 6 by lirics2254 lirics2254

hourra ?

A happy meeting ?

Lyre

As the dust settled on the battlefield, the two women were able to detail their saviour. He was easily 3 metres tall. His back was covered in thick dark fur. His torso was imposingly muscular and each arm looked powerful enough to topple hundred-year-old oak trees. And he was getting closer to them, step by step. Its fur-covered legs ending in enormous hooves seemed to move the mass it supported effortlessly, making the creature's gait fluid.

In a final burst of bravery, Lyra tried to stand up between the minotaur and her friend, but her legs betrayed her and she fell back to the ground. Her face wore a look of terror, tears streaming down her cheeks. She was contemplating her end and there was nothing she could do about it. She nevertheless tried to get closer to her friend, but for every metre she gained, the bull covered 2 or 3. With only a few more steps to go, the young woman threw herself on top of her **** friend, trying to cover her, to protect her from the approaching monsters. She was expecting a fatal blow at any moment, or to feel the monster's grip on her. And yet the footsteps stopped there and no blow or hand came to tear her away from her comrade.
After what seemed like an eternity, Lyra realised that no sound could be heard in the cavern, the only audible thing being the somewhat laboured breathing of the minotaur. She slowly straightened up and turned to face him, and he stood there motionless on one knee, watching them. The young woman looked at the beast in detail for a moment, then their eyes met. Her blue eyes met his deep brown ones. And she knew almost immediately that she was not facing a bloodthirsty beast but something else, something more human. She looked back at her friend, who was sweating profusely, trying in vain to purge the goblin toxin from her body. It would take her at least a day on horseback to reach the nearest village if the goblins hadn't killed them or made them flee, and she was sure her friend wouldn't see the sun rise if she didn't see a doctor as soon as possible.

She turned towards the minotaur and said in a faint voice

"she needs help'. He nodded and moved closer to the young woman he grabbed her in one swift movement and laid her on his shoulder, he then extended his hand towards Lyra and nodded. Instinctively, she understood. She jumped into the minotaur's hands, and he placed her on his other shoulder. Then he began to run, the stone walls flying by at such a speed that Lyra found it hard to maintain a stable position. After several minutes of running, she felt something, air, but not air tainted by the goblins, fresh air. They were approaching the exit. They passed through the camp that the goblins had set up. tents made of bric-a-brac that barely held together and at the end a copper cauldron where a substance was boiling and close by weapons and armour that Lyre recognised. She gasped as she realised what must have been simmering in the pot. But she was in no hurry to stop. After several hours of waking nightmares, they arrived in the open air.
