A happy home

The paperwork goes smoothly, and soon you’re guiding the happy couple towards the doors. Dylan carries Cordelia’s belongings, a dazed but happy expression on his face. Cordelia has her aloof expression once again, but you can see a warmth in her eyes when she glances towards Dylan. You think things will work out for the two of them, but you still let them know that someone will be by tomorrow to check on them.

Once they leave, you head back to your desk, and finish up for the day. It’s always a good feeling when you’re able to match up a sponsor, and today is no different. Even if the relationship is completely different, you’re reminded of your first meeting with Mazzy, and how you felt like you were floating on a cloud. If you’re honest, you’ve never really come down from that feeling, and if this life is a dream, you never want to wake up.

You leave from work with a spring in your step, wondering what you’ll walk into in your home visit tomorrow. It’s always an experience, and usually a good one. You have a good feeling about those two, and you hope you’re proven right.

Driving home, your thoughts inevitably turn towards your own family. Despite there being a big group, it still feels intimate. You love them all deeply, and you know they love you. What’s more, you know they all love each other. The love and support they give each other is just as important as what they give you. And now, you’re taking a big step, with your proposals. Again, it just feels right. This was how it was meant to be.

As you pull into your driveway, you can see Kenna and Dakota standing in the living room, through the window. You sit and watch them for a minute, just observing the casual closeness you can see. After a bit, you see Dakota notice you watching, and she sticks out her tongue, before both of them start laughing. You chuckle to yourself as well, getting out of the car and heading inside.

You’re greeted with the usual hugs and kisses, something else that never gets old. Dakota teases you for watching through the window, saying she’s happy to put on a show for you any time. Meanwhile, you can hear Mazzy, Ellie, and Sirona in the kitchen, and whatever they’re making smells delicious. You sit on the couch with Dakota and Kenna, simply basking in the affection, and realizing how good you have it.
