A good one

After securing and fortifying the city Kerak your captain and his subordinates argue over the next course of action while you on the other hand contemplate your next move. One of the captains argue that all of you should retreat to the border lands and wait for reinforcements before coming back, while others suggest that all of you stand ground, preparing to fight to the **** while taking down as many saracens as you can. P

For now you order your army into the city, securing any and all passages into and out of the city. While your men continue to argue, you however go to the mass, hoping divine guidance would give you the answer you are searching for.

As you walk out of the Chapel, an idea crosses your mind, a potentially risky but if it work, brilliant idea. As you enter the war room, your captain are still arguing. Your chaplain Father Michael quickly cleares his throat, silencing the room as your captains realize your presence.

“I have a plan.” You say as you pull out the map before pointing at the city of Kerak. “We are here alone and while we could attempt to hold out alone and try to hold the Saracens alone we all know it would only be a matter of a prolonged siege and we would be finished. However, if we secure the port city of Genoa to the south of Kerak, we may be able to secure a beachhead for reinforcements lest they attack another port city and be cut down by the Saracens.”

“Captain Willard, I am putting you in charge of our remaining mounted knights to secure the port city of Genoa and send word to the Holy Father to redirect all crusaders to Genoa while I and the rest of the men prepare as best as we can to hold this city as a rallying point until reinforcements arrive.”

Captain Willard nods, accepting his orders and leaving at once while you turn to the rest of your men. “Now the first order of business is that we must fortify the city as best as we can. We have little in way of catapults or trebuchet. However we can still hold this city if we put our hearts and backs into it.” you say as determination fills your voice. Your men only nod, determination clear as day in them as you explain your plan to fortify the city.
