A gnarled staff
Inside the box is a length of dried and twisted wood, about as long as your arm, and jagged at one end, as if this is part of a larger whole.
The grey-brown bark is curiously soft and warm to the touch. The darker, almost black, wood beneath is tough yet flexible and the whole thing feels comfortable in your hand.
