A genie

"Mr Ross!" snaps Amanda's English teacher, interrupting his own lecture to scold Mike Ross for using his phone in class "I appreciate that you may not consider Jane Austin as important as what's happening in the Twittersphere but I do wish you'd pay attention for the rest of the class."

As her teacher spoke Amanda felt strange like something was moving through her, some kind of power. For a moment it almost seemed like she was controlling... something, and then the feeling passed.

The rest of the class went by as normal and Amanda dismissed the odd feeling as just a passing bout of indigestion. She doesn't even notice the way that Mike sits in silent rapt attention for the rest of the class. When the bell rings she hurries off to her next class having already forgotten the incident.
