A few visitors.

As Lisa returned to her room, she was surprised by the number of people in the hallway outside it. Virgil was helping the big city dude on to his unsteady feet. Alma, having changed her clothes, was cleaning up her pee. Sheriff Thorn was trying to talk with all of them about what had transpired.

Even Beth Connors was there nervously waiting. At seeing Lisa, Beth ran up to her and wrapped her arms around Lisa. The impact nearly knocked Lisa off her feet.

"Lisa. I heard what happened." Beth said, concern in her voice. "Are you all right?"

"Yeah. Fine." Lisa replied holding on to Beth. "Just a little bit shaky."

Beth supported Lisa as the two came to her room.

"You know thats the first time you didn't call me miss Lisa." Lisa told Beth.

"I'm sorry." said Beth.

"Don't be." Lisa told Beth smiling. "I kinda like it better this way."

Beth returned Lisa's smile. Lisa looked into her room. Doc Monroe was examining Brett's wound. Bob Thorn came up to Lisa.

"Lets hear your version." Bob told Lisa.

Lisa recounted the events but left out Brett's intent on forcing her back to her room.

Bob Thorn knew Lisa was holding something back, but seeing Lisa cast a look at Beth chose not to push the matter.

"Well doc?" Bob asked "How is he?"

"I'll have to take his arm." doc Monroe said pushing up his glasses. "Or it'll infect and he'll die."

"Virgil. Give me a hand to take him back to mine." doc said.

Virgil helped the doc carry away Brett for treatment.

"We'll talk further in the morning." Bob told Lisa, and then he too left.

Soon it was just Beth and Lisa. Beth helped Lisa into her room.

"I better get going too." Beth told Lisa.

"Thanks Beth." Lisa said. "For everything."

"Goodnight Lisa." Beth said.

"Goodnight Beth." Lisa said. "I'll stop by and see you tomorrow."

Beth left Lisa's room closing the door behind her. Lisa sank exhausted onto her bed and was soon asleep.
