Chapter 207 by Sidian Sidian

Waiting for Lexie.

A few minutes later.

As you were waiting for Lexie to come back outside you couldn't help but walk around the Villa, looking at the target dummy's in the middle, looking at all the rooms around, yet it was strange, nobody was out and about, nobody was training, fighting, talking, just...nothing. Sure, the sun was down and the breeze in the air had just a slight nip to it, but it did see weird. You just shrugged it off as being later in the night and people were down in the mountain either drinking, fucking or they've already gone to bed. Your wandering around gets interrupted as you hear Lexie's door slam shut. As you turn to face her again, you notice she has some type of sack strapped around her back, you walk in her direction "What's in the bag?" you ask

"You'll see soon enough!" she stays straight faced "Come on! Let's go!" she grabs your hand and starts to pull you out of the Villa. For someone who was probably 10 inches shorter than you and at least 100 lbs lighter, she could quite easily **** you to hurry along the ground.

You continued to walk, almost back in the same direction you came from. Actually, the more you paid attention, you did realize, you're going back the same direction completely. It's when you see the stairs down into the mountain that you finally bring it up to Lexie "Uhh...why are we back here?"

"I'm surprised." her eyebrows arch up as you look at her face "I figured you'd be asking me that question five minutes ago." she laughs. The two of you stand at the top of the stairs down into the mountain, looking down that torch filled stairway. Lexie moves to the side, grabbing a torch and lighting it up on one of the ones that is already lite, she then grabs your hand "Come on..." she pulls you to the right, away from the stairs, navigating through some bushes and stone walls before you come to another gash in the mountain.

"What is..." you ask but she doesn't respond, her body instead ducks into the gash in the mountain.

"Come on!" her eyes look back at you, glimmering in the torch lite night sky.

You once again follow the Sunrider through the mountain. This time though, instead of going down a bunch of stairs farther and farther in the mountain, this one seems to be inclining just very slightly. After about another ten minutes of following Lexie through some tight caverns you can see some moonlight finally entering the cave system.

"Almost there..." Lexie huffs out.

As you reach the exit of the mountain, you're shocked. You're standing on a flat plateau, closer to the top of the mountain but still far off. No more than twenty feet ahead of you, the cliff drops off at a ninety degree angle, falling straight down thousands of feet. The full moon basking it's glow all over the desert below. Your mouth drops open as you're just in awe at the scenery. To your left you can still see some torches lite from where the Training Grounds are, you also see a few warriors still down there practicing. They all looked so tiny from this far away though.

"Now...for the worst part." Lexie says nervously as you follow her to the right side of the plateau, hugging the mountain. She stops at the edge, closes her eyes and takes a few deep breathes. You know this is probably extremely terrifying for her since you know she is afraid of heights. "Why would she go through all this trouble then?" you think.

At that moment, Lexie steps out, there is a little lip on the mountain side, probably only about ten inches in length, but you can see it wraps around the side of the mountain, away from this Plateau.

As her body disappears around the curve in the mountain you just stand there in silence. "Is she okay?" you think to yourself, starting to worry slightly, yet you regain your confidence when just a handful of seconds later you hear Lexie call out "Be careful Darien!" from the other side of the mountain wall.

Looking down, thousand of feet below you, the desert floor. One wrong step. One accidental slip. You would plummet to your ****. Now, normally you aren't scared of heights at all, but something about this is nerve-wracking. As you step forward, your hand holding the side of the mountain "what the hell...why is my palm so sweaty." you gulp as you take step after step around. As you finally turn the corner, you see Lexie standing there on another Plateau. A smaller one. A small little cavern in the mountainside.

This side was even more magical. You could now not see any lights from the Syndicate at all as the curve in the mountain you went around is blocking it from your vision. This tiny little plateau, probably ten feet in diameter, as well as a little cut out in the mountain side which almost looks like it was placed there, a tiny carved out room in the mountain.

As you stood next to Lexie, she finally knocked out her torch, killing all the light on the plateau. But it wasn't dark at all, as the full moon was shining it's light all across the mountain and the desert below. You wrap your arm around her waist, holding her close as your eyes roamed around. You didn't even want to talk at that moment. You just wanted to look around. In the distance you could see the moonlight reflecting off an oasis, shimmering blissfully. Shadows skitter across the ground, unable to make out what they were but seeing movement in the distance as animals come out at night. Your head tilts up, looking into the cloudless sky. So many stars, even with the full moon shining bright it was amazing how many you could see. The slight cool breeze keeping any bugs from ruining the otherwise peaceful night.

Lexie leaves your embrace and opens up the bag she carried with her. Two nice heavy duty blankets, one to cover the rocks and one to lay under, also two sacks stuffed with lamb fur to use as pillows. She sprawls them out on the ground before sitting down on it, her hand patting the ground next to her, asking you to sit.

The two of you sit there, side by side, looking off into the distance without saying any words for the longest time. Just enjoying the night with each others presence. Minutes pass by as eventually Lexie cuddles up against you, your arm goes around your shoulders, pulling her into you.

"Do you like it?" she whispers softly.

You turn your head as you look at the Sunrider sitting next to you. "Lexie..." you begin as her head turns toward you, connecting your eyes together "The location, the view, the moon, the stars..." your arm leaves her shoulder as your hand goes up to her face, brushing a strand of hair back and tucking it behind her ear "The company..." you smile at her "It's all perfect. Thank you. Thank you for this."

Her head starts to lean in closer to you, her eyes begin to close and her lips start to pucker out. Your hand still rests on her cheek, cupping her ever so gently as you pull yourself into her.

You had many long days of being sad, angry and depressed since your sister was taken from you. Thoughts of **** flooded your head as you needed to get back to Rathkin as soon as possible. Your mind was clouded with rage.

As your lips connected, your body felt almost nervous about the scene, kissing this amazing woman in front of you. She went out of her way to help you in a time of need, to try to get you to enjoy this night, not to just forget about what happened, but to just do what she could for you, anyway she thought possible. It was meaningful, it was magical, it was perfect.

After such painful days, there was no more rage in your body. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, you were finally happy once more and it was all thanks to this wonderful human being, this beautiful person, this playful Sunrider, Lexie.

What's next?
