Chapter 21
by Selzara
What do you find on your way?
A cozy little hamlet
Gibbi, Ella and you have been walking for a few hours, making some small-talk to get to know eachother.
Turns out, Gibbi is from a smaller clan of goblins, living in this area. She is also the youngest of her group of 28 siblings. Her mother is the broodmother of her clan, since Gibbi's grandmother could no longer give birth, becoming too old and fragile.
Gibbi's oldest brother, Grazh, is the head warrior of the clan. He is stronger, faster and more quick-witted than any other goblin she has met. At the age of 5, he was able to overpower and tame a wolf that had been terrorizing the clan for a very long time, earning him the nickname 'Wolf-Breaker'. It becomes quite obvious to you, that Gibbi is very proud of her brother, from the way her face lights up with each story she tells about his exploits.
Ella is quite the different story. He is very withdrawn when it comes to talking about his family and birthplace, not giving you any straight answers.
However, you find out that his passion in life is singing. His nervous stuttering stops when he tells you about all the beautiful ballads and songs that he has learned through his studies. He even sings an elven song for you and Gibbi. His voice is beautiful and full of life, and you imagine that this is the way an angel speaking would sound like.
You all become more comfortable with eachother, even Gibbi and Ella get to talking about more... girlish things that you don't quite follow, like how to turn different plants into a make-up like powder. At least they sound like they are having a good time.
As you pass the top of the hill your have been ascending, you finally get to see civilisation in this world.
At the foot of the hill is a small hamlet. Ten houses of different sizes, a small church and a watermill by the stream is fenced in by a low, wooden wall. You see people walking around in the fields outside of the walls and a single guard standing at the gate, smoking on a pipe. The people here seem to be human, except for a dwarven man, standing outside the watermill.
You look at you companions and gesture towards the hamlet. "So, are we going down there or do you have any objections?"
They both nod, however, you notice that Gibbi seem a bit tense. Maybe it has something to do with her being a giblin? You seem to remember that in most games, they are evil minions, maybe it's the same here?
You shrug and give Gibbi a pat on the head as you start to walk down the hill.
What do you do while walking?
The Unknown Power
Living in a game.
