A contract

A serving girl? Jane had not read about this in her research, but then again there was much she did not know. But it sounded reasonable enough. She had expected to start in the lower parts of the order, serving and helping the older members to start with.

"I will do anything you ask" Jane whispered.

"Good, that's the spirit, start by standing up." Ms Steward smiled at her. Jane stood, wiping tears from her face. "I want to be very clear with you Jane, a serving girl must do anything the order asks, no matter how humiliating."

Jane nodded eagerly, allthough the word humiliating stood out to her as a bit strange. "Of course."

"There will be many assignments of course, but to be blunt, the most important ones will be sexual."

Jane felt chock at this, not that occult orders of witches where known to be prudes, but that the order of Trifold Night would have sexual servants... and she would be one of them? She? She must have heard wrong. "Um, sexual, Ms Steward?"

"I don't know if you've heard, but our order has a second name?" Jane shook her head. "It is called the order of Dark Pleasures."

Jane felt terrified at the thought. She had never had sex, she did not even enjoy looking at porn much, it felt overwhelming to her, she had always thought that was something she would figure out later in life. But her determination was still there, there was only one problem...

"I said I would do anything, didn't I? The only thing is..."

Ms Steward raised her eyebrow. "Yes?"

"Um..." Jane indicated herself, she knew how she must look, face drenched in tears and snot, she blushed. "Will I really... suffice for the task?"

Her teacher laughed. "Don't worry about that, Jane. But you're willing? Good! We will sign a contract then!" She looked through her desk drawers and found a piece of paper, she took an ordinary pen from a cup on her desk and started writing on it. Maybe some people would have been surprised that there where no quill, no signing in blood, but Jane knew enough about magic from her research that she knew it wasn't that dramatic.

"The contract states that you must serve the order as a servant for a full year, obeying the order of any member or anyone the order tells you to obey. If you refuse the contract is void, you will loose all memory of the order and go back to your old life. If you do as you are told, then you will be given a one month period as my apprentice. If I judge that you have potential as a witch, I will let you continue on, if not, you will likewise loose your memory and return to your old life. Sign if you agree to the terms." Ms Steward gave her the contract to read, it said pretty much exactly as she had said it would. It stroke Jane as possible that Ms Steward was merely taking advantage of her, that she had no intention of letting Jane continue as an apprentice after the month was up. But what was she to do? This seemed her only possibility, and besided, from her research she knew that such a contract wouldn't work if both parts did not intent to keep their part, she would merely have to show that she had potential.

Jane signed the paper. Ms Steward signed as well.
