A chat over some tea.

"Please have a seat, dear," Catherine smiled, gesturing to her daughter-in-law to have a seat on the living room sofa.

"Thank you, mom," Marlissa replied and sat down next to her mother-in-law.

"Tea, dear?"

"Yes, please."

"Now that the boys are busy downstairs please tell me more about yourself," Catherine asked as she poured the both of them Earl Grey tea.

"I am a model," Marlissa answered.

"I know that, dear!" Catherine chuckled as she handed Marlissa her tea cup.

Marlissa had no parents, no family, and no past, at least nothing that she could reveal under her new human identity. She knew she could not reveal her true demonic nature nor let alone that Catherine's son had summoned her from the Abyss. She and Ryan had not planned her history and background but as demoness of seduction, lying was as natural as breathing to her.

"I was born in a quaint town of Storrs in Connecticut," Marlissa explained, using the town she was summoned by Ryan as her hometown. "My parents died in a car accident when I was five..."

"I am so sorry, dear!" Catherine interrupted, gently touching her daughter-in-law's hand.

"Thank you, mom," Marlissa smiled. "It is good to call someone 'mom' again."

Catherine's eyes began to water and Marlissa grabbed a napkin to pass to her mother-in-law. "Thank you, dear."

Marlissa explained how she raised by her grandmother in Hartford and was discovered by a modelling scout when she visited Boston. She told of lavish tales of her travels across the globe as a model, eventually leading to meeting Ryan in Paris.

"It is a such a small world, dear!" Catherine smiled. "Shall we see if the boys are ready with dinner?" She got up to press the button on the intercom.

"That and grandkids to shut your mother up," Edward laughed. "She hasn't stopped talking about babies since the two of you left this afternoon."

Catherine looked at Marlissa wide-eyed and blushed with embarrassment. She leaned over the railing to yell downstairs, "I heard that, Edward!"
