Dinner.

"Take-out?" Ryan shrugged.

His father laughed and his mother sighed.

Catherine turned to her daughter-in-law. "After dinner I want to show you photos of Ryan when he was a little boy!"

"I would love that!" Marlissa squealed, giving her husband a quick glance and a smile.

Ryan wanted to protest but he knew his mother had accepted his new wife and was excited to have her in the family. He accepted his fate and continued to eat.

"Oh, son, I want to show you the new miniatures I've been painting," Edward noted.

"Yeah, that would be great, dad," Ryan nodded.

"Dear, what are your plans this week before the two of you fly out?" Catherine asked her son.

"I'll visit my office on campus but other than that not much."

"I was thinking if the two of you would like to stay here for the week?" Catherine paused for a moment before continuing. "That way you do not have to commute from your place in SoHo to visit us."

"And you'll enjoy my home cooking!" Edward interjected.

"Mom, I don't know..." Ryan looked at Marlissa if she could politely decline his mother's suggestion without hurting her feelings. That and he wanted to make love to his wife in his own home.

"If the two of you want to make a baby we won't be able to hear you from the top floor," Edward interjected. "Besides, we're heavy sleepers."

"Edward!" Catherine exclaimed, embarrassed by her husband's bluntness.

Marlissa and Ryan looked at each other.
