A brief discussion

Parks were always a good place to visit, a few of my favorite drawings I’ve done were in parks. I hadn’t been to this one though. There were some nice dirt paths and a few benches in both secluded places as well as on the paths. She was walking without a fear in the world. Smiles and a gait to show her confidence.

“So tell me, what is it you like about me?” She was not afraid to ask the hard questions. I knew a few off the bat but I’ll need to come up with better.

“Well your hair is really nice, I like your overall figure. You always came across as a nice person with what little interaction we did have. How you are able to put up with the other cheerleaders I don’t understand.” There was a chuckle at that one. “You’re also unafraid to stand by what you believe. Which is really commendable to me at least.”

Ashley turned to look at me with the last one. “Well I appreciate it. And yes, I agree, the other girls are some real pains in the ass. It’s funny though, when they were just getting started in cheerleading they weren’t that bad. It’s almost like the later we went the more uptight they got.”

By this point we had sat down by some trees. I had laid down my jacket to sit on and she had done the same. “I like your shirt.” she commented, I held it up a bit in response so she could get a better look.

“Ya, there’s an annual celebration I go to in May that has a bunch of artists bring out their stuff. I sell some stuff, but not as much as the other guys.”

“What kinda celebration is it?”

“Free comic book day, first Saturday of may.”

“That’s pretty rad. Never heard of it though. I’ll have to check it out next time.” We has started laying down in the grass for comfort sake. Using the tree as a backing.

“Ya the store I go to takes over the parking lot and turns it into like, a fair almost. They hire wrestlers and have a wrestling show, booths for artists and stuff. It’s a great time.”

“Well now I have to go. Would you be interested in taking me?” And that’s what I A. Should have seen coming and B. Was still shocked to hear.

“Uh, Sure ya. It’ll be fun.”

“Great!” Ashley had put her arms up in celebration and rested one around me as she laid back. I didn’t say anything and just let her do her thing. “Well, while I appreciate that, and it’s one way to set up a second date. I’d like to do one, a little sooner.”

If I didn’t looney-toon eye before. I did a little bit at that.
