A black man that towers over the others, dressed in African garb, with a mysterious, alluring quality about him

My house has a view that overlooks the city, which is more like a large town. The chair that I’m reclining against is currently facing said view, but through my peripheral, I can see the sliding door that leads back into my house and the array of my bullies flanking it. When I detect motion, I keep my head facing towards the city, but I’m able to look through the corner of my eye for any changes. And the sunglasses I was given further hides the movement of my eyes.

Lucas moves to slide the screen door and allow a tall man, towering above the others by a few inches. He is clearly the height of a basketball player and considering the proportions of his frame, appears to have a muscular body underneath an ornate robe. His outfit makes him seem like African royalty, but unlike a monarch, he wears no crown on his head, not even a piece of jewelry anywhere else on his body. He wears a stoic expression on his face, which is a bit intimidating, and his very presence causes the others to bow to him in reverence. He pays none of them any mind as his attention is only on me.

He approaches the chair that I’m laying on and walks in front of the sun, casting a large shadow over me. “Are you Charlene?” he asks with a deep voice.

“Yes. And you are?” I ask in return.

“My name is M’Hanze Thedukho. In your language, my name would be a mouthful. So, you may address me as M’Hanze,” he introduces himself. African garb, African looks and a genuine-sounding African name to boot. “Have your colleagues given you the news?”

“They said they were going to tell me, but I don’t think they have said it yet,” I tell him.

“I will gladly tell you the news,” he starts to say, “but I feel like changing the scenery. Perhaps somewhere more private or relaxing.”
