A bet about the Stanley Cup

It was the cooler months (well, "cooler" by west coast standards), and the Canadiens were playing the Blackhawks for the chance to bring the Stanley Cup back to Canada for the first time since 1993.

"Papi," Renee asked her grandfather, "who do you think will win it all this year?"

"Well, les Habitants have had ze best offense all year, and ze Prezeedehnt's Trophy," Jacques replied in his accent, "zey are in ze best pozeeshoh to win zees sehnchuree. And you?"

"Oui oui, papi," Renee concurred, "they've got this in the bag!"

"Actually," Marcus butted in, "the President's Trophy winner usually doesn't win the Stanley Cup."

"Oh shut up, child," Jacques chided as Renee glared at him.

"Alright, then," Marcus continued in his challenge, "let's bet on it!"
