A bad morning and embarrassing arrival

Through the wall, you could hear:

Chup: You know what happens when you don’t do your morning devotionals.

(Pause)

Chup: What’s that?

(Pause)

Chup: Yes, that’s right, you get spanked. Now I’m going to take my strap and…

Fari: Chup, go finish getting ready. I’m already prepared for the day. Kari, go get my cane and then take the rest of your clothes next door while I have a little talk with your sister.

Kari: Yes ma’am.

There was a pause when Kari and Chup walked across the hall and then Kari came back. You realized you were mostly done packing, but you were invested in the drama next door now. Soon Kari showed up in your room in an underdress. She normally wore light dresses with more elaborate patterns but since you were on an official visit to another town, she would need to wear an overdress. She had a sheepish look on her face.

Kari: Can I finish dressing in here? My mother and sister need to use the other room.

Emid: Of course. I heard.

Kari: (whispering) I’m afraid everyone heard. It’s so embarrassing when she gets like this.

Fari: (from through the wall) Ok Ruchi panties down and touch your toes.

Ruchi: mother please… Not in the hotel.

There was a pause and a CRACK. Ruchi yelped. The another CRACK and Ruchi got a little louder. These strokes weren’t back to back but just long enough for the pain to register and start to pass before the next stripe came. CRACK WHAP WHAP CRACK SMACK SLAP CRACK. Ruchi was squealing at each stroke.

Fari: Ruchi, keep your position unless you want it worse.

WHACK!

Fari: Ok, you will wear this short nightgown to Enor. On the journey, you will fill out your devotional book and when we arrive you aren’t to speak to anyone. You will go directly to the Prefect’s chapel and offer to atone for your sin. You will carry both yours and your sisters items to the carriage since you don’t need to get ready. Now move.

Fari went downstairs to the carriage and Chup went soon after. Kari had been as distracted as Emid and hadn’t gotten far in dressing. Emid was finished though and grabbed his bag to head to the carriage. That snapped Kari out of her haze and she hustled to get ready. Emid supposed it would not be wise for her to be late. He was surprised how the girl who was so confident last night was so timid this morning.

At the carriage, the guard was still making their way down and getting ready to go. Ruchi soon came struggling with a trunk. A guard offered help, but Fari glared and Ruchi and Ruchi politely declined. She went back up and came down with a second trunk and loaded it. She went into the carriage and opened a box and produced a small book. She sat down gently and opened the book. Kari came hurrying out of the hotel and was the last one to join, but not causing any delay. Emid and Kari got in the carriage. Kari sat next to Emid since Ruchi was often shifting her weight and may appreciate the extra room. Emid noticed Kari also had a small book in her hand. The party departed and the trip was much less eventful. Kari stealthily touched Emid’s leg and arm but there was little conversation. Ruchi’s nightgown was a reminder she wasn’t having a great day.

Soon they arrived in Enor. Fari and Chup immediately met with the alderman, the prefect, and Emid’s sister. Kari was quick to join them as Ruchi made her way to the chapel to wait for the prefect. Ruchi attempted to walk behind the carts to conceal herself from most of the town, but once she was out from behind the carts she stood out. She was a tall, beautiful girl walking through the town in a simple nightgown that was similar to what folks wore to signify they were penitants.

The other Benfars were soon finished and Fari pointed out Ruchi as the prefect departed. The Benfars went with the alderman to the largest building in the town and Emid’s sister was left.

Emid went to greet his sister.
