A Young college student

After finishing with bringing in the last of your boxes, you looked at the not quite bare college room. It was your arrival day. Plenty of people were outside celebrating, but you were glad enough to finally be away from... family. Your one friend, Tabitha, waved goodbye as she left for her dorm.

"Hope you get settled soon my friend. I know you had a lot o family trouble, but hey, its your first day at college! We got lucky my car was big enough to bring all your stuff, and you got lucky to get a single room. Have fun setting up your stuff!"

She was off, now to settle in! As you finally, nearing the end of the afternoon and getting on into early evening, the desk in its corner and the bunk in its place, your computer all set up, you notice one small extra wooden box.

"Wait, I don't remember this."

Opening it, you spy a gold ring with a purple gemstone set into it.

"Whoa, that's beautiful."
