A Werewolf

You have always found humans to be a... conundrum. During the day, you look just like one of their pups, and they coddle you and give you bread or spare change as they pass you as you curl up on the side of the street with a blanket over you, the scraps of clothing on you doing little to protect you from the bite of the wind, like your fur would. You hate this form. It's so... limiting, despite the upsides that the humans are generous and aren't trying to kill you now. Your senses are dulled, and muddy. You feel like your tongue is too short, and your teeth are all just molars in your mouth, nothing to tear into food with. You love the night, however, when you get to be free. When you can be yourself.

The feeling of your fur break the wind as you run through it, the feeling of your claws digging into wood and mortar as you scale buildings. You love the way your paws sound as you run on tile or stone, so much more appealing than the pitiful pats your soft human feet make. You love having your sense back to full strength, hearing things and tasting things that your human form never could have, and seeing thing in the darkness where it would only be miasmic blackness for your human form.

But, humans hate this form. They throw rocks, poke at you with spears and pitch forks, wave torches in your face. They never have been able to kill you, seeing as you haven't tasted wolf's bane or silver yet, but you can still feel pain, and they have caused you much.

But... You have stored up money form begging and looting the few corpses you find, whether you killed them or not, for a single potion you found in the black market. A Curse Enhancer. One drink of it, and any curse will be strengthened almost tenfold. The stall owner boasted that it could make a Warlock become more attuned with his eldritch or demonic magic, or a wizard to become a lich even quicker, or, if one wished to be truly vile, to make a werewolf in their hybrid form, permanently.

Now, you wander into the Black Market... seeking out the wares of the illegals. Before you go, you take a look at yourself in the mirror.
