Chapter 5 by Zeebop Zeebop

What kind of experiment?

A Temporary Body Swap

"A body swap?" Bertha said.

In the laboratory of the Baxter Building, the Great Lakes Avenger (or whatever they were calling themselves these days) was in her heavy form, about six hundred pounds. As tall as Sue, but padded about in every dimension with masses of superhumanly dense fat. Great thick thighs rubbed against each other, huge hips shifted and massive buttocks wobbled with each adjustment of position; neck swallowed by a roll of soft pink flab, cheeks bright pink on a wide face that was oddly attractive with her high cheekbones. A rotund stomach hung over her thighs, and Sue couldn't help but think that Bertha could never see her own pussy in that form. It was all smooth fat and muscle that kept her skin taut, though, no cellulite orange-peel texture. She smiled in her yellow leotard, moving freely and easily despite the mass.

"Temporary," Dr. Stone said as she gestured at the two reinforced chairs with the metal cones that would descend over the head. They looked suspiciously like something Sue would expect to see at her hairdresser's. "We have the technology. Sue is undergoing some body image issues. Walking in someone else's shoes might help her feel more comfortable in her own skin."

Big Bertha couldn't see her own feet, but Sue noticed that the relatively dainty appendages were ensconced in matching two-inch heels. Impressive balance for the size that Bertha was, and a sign of her other career as a supermodel. The Milwaukee heroine's ability to adjust her body's fat content and body mass let her live a kind of double life that Sue Storm never imagined.

"Well," Bertha said, with that broad Midwestern accent, and gave the Invisible Woman and the psychiatrist a warm smile. "If it'll help, sure! Just don't get too comfortable! I have a photo shoot next week."

"24 hours," Dr. Stone promised. "As long as there are no technical issues, Dr. Richards?"

"Not a problem," Reed Richards said, as he adjusted something on one of the chairs. "We've made great strides in temporary body switching technology lately. Although neither of you may be able to access your body's powers in that short period."

Sue smiled back. She was nervous. Not sure how she had let Dr. Stone talk her into this.

Yet she settled into the chair, she felt an excitement too. She was an adventurer, and this was an adventure. Exploring not another planet or dimension, but another body type. To feel what it would be like to be that heavy.

"Thank you," Sue Storm said to Dr. Stone.

The psychiatrist smiled back at her. That knowing, smug smile, as if there was a secret at the tip of her tongue. Then both Sue and Bertha went rigid.

For a long moment, consciousness ceased. There was no Sue. No Bertha. All that was them—their thoughts, their memories—passed back and forth. Overwrote each other's brains.

One moment, Sue Storm sat in her chair, a hundred and twenty-five pounds of Invisible Woman, a weight maintained through strenuous exercise, decades of dieting, and an adventurous lifestyle. When her eyes blinked open, they were more green than blue. Her hair, more auburn than blonde. Her body...

Her body was heavy.

How does Sue Storm feel being big?
